Quebec Waiting Room

For people wondering, here's some info you might find useful.

Like everyone knows, in Quebec you get an 8000$ incitative from the government. Most places put it as a cash down on the car. It seems Tesla isn't doing it and you have to do the paperwork after buying the car. So if, like me, you expected to have nothing to bring for the delivery, think again. You will need a certified check for that amount.

For insurance, so far, it seems La Capitale is the most interesting. You have 24h to give proof of your insurance. So you will have to scramble to get this done.

You will have a registration fee to pay to the SAAQ. You can do so with a credit card.

Have a void check ready with you. You will need to provide one by email if you get financing.

That's about it. Once all of this done, you just wait. They have 30 minutes per delivery. So better check how the car work beforehand.

Got another call to ensure that my financing was correct during dinner. The guy (I forgot to ask his name) said that they expect delivery mid to late June... must admit that I am a bit disapointed by that as see Toronto and now Vancouver moving ahead.
I originally ordered my car through Montreal even though I live in Ottawa - different province - different sales tax - different incentives. After I did a test drive on one of the Tesla demos - I was told that a delivery specialist would take over the process. Never heard from this individual - but I did get a call from someone from a Nevada area code asking me how I was going to pay for the car. Took me about ten seconds to realize that this dude didn't even know how provinces there were in Canada let alone all the issues between each one. Next day I called Toronto and asked they take over delivery - didn't want to jump through hoops to get back 14K incentive and get the difference between Quebec (14.995%) and Ontario (13%). Dude from Nevada didn't even tell me that he was calling from Las Vegas - Googled the area code after the call and realized that this individual was some brainless cog of machinery who was paid next to minimum wage to satisfy some poorly thought out bureaucratic process.

As of right now there are seven in Montreal ready for delivery with Quebec plates attached.

I’m so jealous (je suis tellement jaloux) ;-). Anyone new enthousiastic owner in MTL that would be willing to meet and let me experience the suspension? I don’t need to drive at all. I would be the passenger. It’s the suspension that worries me (especially here in Montreal) and need to know if I wait for the air suspension next year, or just go with the coil one. Thanks!

Alright, I'm now back in Quebec City for my end but if you still need a ride let me know, I don't know the next time I'll be in Mtl but I will figure it out.
