Anyone know the best way to attach the tags to a personal plate?

The EV tags supplied in NSW come with double sided tape and seem quite secure.
If the QLD tags don’t have it purchase car grade double sided tape from one of the automotive stores like Repco or Supercheap. Normal house grade double sided tape is not really strong enough.

Another option is sikaflex11fc if you have a silicon gun. Bunnings. needs overnight to set sufficiently before driving, and after a week you will literally need a grinder to remove the tag.

Sikaflex 11FC is awesome stuff - it’s what the pros use in the building industry. Mention “Selleys” to a builder and they will look at you with a mixture of pity, disdain or contempt.

Indeed. Its what is used to hold facades on buildings, and glass in frameless windows (different brands sometimes). Be mindful its not uv stable so must be covered. Good idea to throw on some nitrile gloves too, and for some reason black sticks better than other colours.
if you want to fix roof leaks at home, you can use selleys roof and gutter and repeat every year, or clean surfaces properly and use sikaflex pro, and come back next decade. Its UV stable but not an adhesive.
