The Mobile Connector is the best band of the buck, cheaper to buy, can be used as backup charger on trips, and cheaper to install a 14-50 wall plate. Wonder how long does it take to ship.

My recent experience:

UMC (mobile connector) ordered 12/22, Model Y ordered as well
UMC shipped 12/29 via UPS
UMC arrived 1/3
VIN assigned 1/13
ModY picked up 1/17

I agree the UMC is the cheapest and most flexible choice. I have one permanentlly plugged into 6-50 at home. I have another in the frunk.

FYI. I ordered ModY and UMC (mobile connector) Dec 22. I received the UMC well before my VIN (VIN came on Jan 13).

That is good to know. It may have been that the UMC was in short supply last year so Tesla was waiting to ship till the last minute. Probably supply is good now so they just ship them when you order like all their other products.
