Question regarding Private sale

Hi Folks,

I bought a used tesla model x from a private seller. I have another vehicle.. which I am planning to sell soon. Already owned vehicle has a new inspection sticker and plates already in place. Can I use the same sticker and plates from my old car to a new car?

You might can, but would have to get them registered to that car!

Do not put them on the car until they are registered for that car. If you get pulled over, it may not be fun!

The inspection is by VIN and stored in the DMV computers.

The sticker is just proof of registration & license plates in a location it’ll cannot easily be stolen.

you can keep your plates but you have to go to the tax office and have it transferred. I think the sticker has the VIN on it.

yep - sticker has VIN and is designed to be not removable, therefore intended to stay with the car.
Don't take our word for it, this stuff isn't Tesla specific after all.
