Questions on cash payment and Delivery Appointment

How long in advance of Delivery Appointment do Tesla ask for cash payment? This is with a personal cash order.

Also, advice please if Tesla ignore your request to defer Delivery Appointment if you can't make the appointment?

I told them I could not make the original Delivery Appointment and they emailed me to confirm they would defer. But now I have received a Delivery Appointment Confirmation email with the original date.

As long as the payment has been made by the time you collect the car its fine.

You could probably transfer the money during collection as long as you could provide evidence of the transfer.

My experience relates to last August when they were handing over hundreds of cars daily at West Drayton - it was a little chaotic and last minute and I am sure the system must have improved since then....maybe.
I was called with a delivery appointment with about 3 days notice.
I then received the final invoice later that day.
It caught me out a bit because I was expecting at least a weeks notice as I seem to recall reading somewhere that invoices had to be paid in full at least a week before delivery. It doesn't appear to be the case in practice.
I transferrred the cash to Citibank and within 2 minutes of that received an email delaying the delivery appointment. (Typical!)
You could see that the funds had reached the account by looking in the source code (just like the hidden VIN).
I can't recall how long it took to see it but I think it was almost instant. Very quick anyway.
I ended up being away on holiday when the revised delivery appointment eventually came (Typical!)
One phone call and delivery was deferred without a problem.
