Quick Silver Y waiting room

Just called my advisor and ETA is 7/18! I keep seeing QS MYPs pop up locally also. For those waiting, keep checking the inventory. They're out there
We had an MYLR, like the one we ordered just black interior, was willing to change to black from white. It was only 3.5 hours away, was showing in transit. Then all of a sudden it was in transit to south Florida, 10.5 hours away. Since our advisor was off Thursday and Friday we weren’t able to jump on it like we would have.

I’m getting a Performance, so it will come with the better Panasonic pack
Interesting. We aren't getting performance but definitely wanted the Panasonic. I think all the quicksilvers in inventory right now are the other battery- although there was one that came into inventory on the 4th that we tried to get but no one from tesla called us back and as of yesterday it was gone. i just checked the inventory using the “all deliverable” search criteria. I think there were only 4 quicksilvers about 10 hours away from us. Only one of those was the Panasonic battery. Of course, that was the one we tried to get while it was in transit but everyone was off for the holiday and couldn’t help us. So now instead of being 5 hours away, it is 10 hours away. There were a couple of other colors available within a 5 to 10 hour radius of us if we wanted those.

So we have to figure out if they are actually going to make our car and be able to take delivery of us before our second loan approval runs out in mid-August or if we will have to settle for a color we didn't order and drive like 8 hours to pick it up. I’m not confident they will make our car by mid-August and inventory remains sparse around us. Wish you could send some of that inventory you are seeing where you are down this way!

Right after I posted this, we got a vin! I’m still holding my breath until we drive home with it, but it seems like we are moving in the right direction.

This morning we got the message to schedule delivery. Since we have to drive 152 miles to the closest Service Center and not really able to get away from work at this time, we scheduled for Saturday afternoon. Will pick up rental car Saturday morning and head over.

While I still think they can do some work on Customer Service, and this company above all others should be able to tell you where you are in the production queue so you can keep up with things better (only ask for transparency). I will say last two days I have been in a pretty good mood, to counter the anxiety from last month.

Picked mine up today (southern california). Original delivery date was supposed to be 6/27 but vehicle got held up in transit and i went out of town. So they put a "one time hold". Unheld on 7/5 and on 7/10 got a notification to pickup on 7/12 so the VIN was assigned pretty quickly. Was actually pretty bummed out because the first VIN was Austin and the 7/12 pickup was Fremont VIN.

Aaaand.... before leaving the delivery center I already scheduled a service appointment. now I'm onto doing quality control... scratches, a door ding, a rattle and best of all hundreds of ants crawling out of every crevice you can think of.

Ants?? What ever from??

I bid all of you in this thread farewell and good luck! My wait is finally over, and it seems to have been worthwhile.

This is an Austin-built MYP with a 3D1 rear motor and Hankook all season SUV tires, which is interesting - I'm curious to see how those fare over time.

Lovely!
As far as I can tell, every Austin built MYP from at least April of 2024 has the same Hankook tires.
Fremont builds around that time were still using the Michelin Pilot All Seasons but they may also have switched to Hankook now as well.

IMO
Hankook: better range, smoother ride, more sound absorbency, slightly cheaper
Michelin: better handling and performance
Not sure how they compare Rain/Snow wise or for treadwear.

ordered mine 7/2/24. Quick Silver. White interior. Long Range AWD. 19" wheels, 5 seats.

Currently I have a VIN # and a delivery time frame of 7/21 - 7/28
I ordered my QS w/ black 5 seater and 19’s 07/21 and am scheduled to pick it up 07/25 in Mesa. Perfect timing, it was in transit already. Has a trailer hitch which I hadn’t ordered but it may come in useful so OK by me and I don’t have to wait 😎.
