Radar detector hardwire "switched v12" not working for me

Hi

I have a 12/2018 build M3 that I just did radar detector hardwire following this tutorial but it looks like my radar detector is not turning off after walking away from the car. Could someone tell me if I am doing something wrong?

Radar detector is connected to power and ON state.
-> I close all doors
-> disable bluetooth on my phone so M3 locks.
-> mirrors fold automatically since key is not near

I expected my radar detector to turn OFF however it continues to remain ON. I have walked away from the car and let it sit for 10 minutes and with bluetooth still disabled on my phone the radar remains on draining power. I did tap into the middle connector as the tutorial stated and it claimed to be a "switched" source that should turn off with the car but doesn't look like it?

I do have SENTRY MODE enabled but my home is an address where it is automatically disabled. I am not sure if this would make a difference or not.... any help is appreciated!

The 12V turns off when the M3 goes to sleep. My power comes from the line that feeds the 12V connector in the center console.

The behavior of the wire you tapped has recently changed following a software update. This thread has the best info already 12v Switched?
