Radar Detector Hardwire

Is it possible to hardwire a radar detector to the mirror ?

Short answer: Yes. Long answer: I don't recommend it. I've had a Model S for three years and am awaiting my Y. I had my Valentine One hardwired to the mirror on my S and it blew a fuse in the Tesla leaving me stranded. Tesla swears it was caused by the V1. I have my doubts, but I wired it to the accessory wire under the right side of the center console and had no further problems for more than 2 years.

Tesla might have been feeding me a line of BS, but better safe than sorry, you know?
