So is it still the case that no one has found switched power either in the overhead light or the mirror?

Can the blend mount position the V1 BEHIND the mirror. I want it out if view as I run V1Driver app on my iphone. The Display is a bit distracting because V1Driver has suppressed the bulk of the falses.

I was actuslly considering mounting it in the FRUNK. And lose rear arrow and laser.

I love the clean look of model 3.

Or perhaps mount it in the back window.

Blendmount isnt the only option. There is also MirrorMount at ~1/3 to 1/2 the cost (depending on whether you include direct wire hardware). I got one a couple weeks ago and love it. Haven't installed it in the Model 3 as I am still waiting on delivery but at least 1 users feedback indicates it works well in the 3.

By default it sits pretty snug below the mirror, but Id imagine with slight modification (e.g. flipping the pivot join upside down) it could sit in front of the mirror as well.

I think I found a really cool spot to mount my Valentine One.

I run V1Driver on my iPhone so I really don't need physical access to the V1 nor does it's display need to be in view.
V1Driver will Automute, Display Direction, Speed Mute, Auto Connect, Speak Direction over hands free protocol.
I can even have the radio blasting and it will mute the radio and announce the alert.
You can see it running on the phone sitting on the wireless charger.

Obviously, I have not hardwired the V1 yet. I think it will be easier than up front. I need to confirm performance here before I commit wiring. I plan to route the wire down the right rear pillar and find a switched 12V on the Amp. There has to be some switched 12V there.

I really didn't want to clutter up the windshield and spoil the model 3 look, nor interfere with the rear view mirror, nor route wires in the front at all (I have in many cars before). There is just too much stuff going on up front that could cause an issue.

I used that 3M Dual Lock (or Scotch) stuff you see on EZPass to mount it. The V1 is upside down because it's flat on the bottom.

What's also cool is it's completely invisible from the outside as well. Day or night.

The only mammal that will ever see it are my 2 four legged friends.

Did you notice the hidden DashCam too ;) (Joking I don't have V9 yet).

Maybe a mount off to the right of the mirror just so the rear sensor has a view?

Like I said I don’t want to mess with anything near that camera. You know, the one that drives your car. And I also don’t want to clutter up the front view, for passenger or driver. I want it to stay like the model 3 was meant to be.

The rear sensor has never run so good where I have it now. It’s the front sensor that might take a hit.

I just described how I chose to install one. There are many other ways.

I prefer a radar detector that can Learn how to lock out falses with no intervention.

The only ones that do that are V1 with a phone app or an Escort radar detector.

The Escort 360 also has arrows like a V1.

It I didn’t have a V1 I’d probably have that Escort 360.
