Rain sensors work FLAWLESS!

50.3 worked perfectly in the north east blizzard as well. Perfect swipe with the snow. I would argue much better than the dedicated rain sensor in my Porsche.

Worked well today for me. Of course I realized you have to turn them ON first;). I bought my X in September and today was the first time I ever used my window wipers!!! Such is life in the SoCal high desert:p.

Also used them at night and they worked really well.

I had told my wife about this “sexy new feature” days before she saw it in action. Of course I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek as automatic wipers are pretty standard stuff.

But it must have tickled her because 2 days later when we were driving at night and a light drizzle started and the wipers came on automatically and made a single swipe, clearing the small amount of water off the windshield, and then falling silent and still, she just said, “sexy!” :p

AutoWipers work really great in daylight. Just had a drive through a sparse, dimly-lit rural road at night though and they didn't do much. Not too big of a surprise, probably, as cameras need, you know, light, to function. But there you go.
Agree. I did notice oncoming traffic headlights at night freeway driving, was often enough to keep autowipe active.

Turned it on, then went to visit You You Xue in Bellevue, WA. They were so bad in the Seattle rain I had to turn them off. Got to the point where I couldn't see anything.

Mine failed to work on the way to the mountains in the road mist yesterday, and then swiped hours later when it was completely dry.

I have a 15 year old BMW that has never once missed rain or triggered unexpectedly, and the Tesla did it twice in one day.

Wouldn’t call it “flawless” but overall, a welcomed update! - not as great with snow as it is with rain. Sometimes setting 1 is too sensitive, at other times even setting 2 is not sensitive enough
