Raleigh, NC waiting room

I'm waiting for an M3 as well... (Current model S owner, configured 8/6, reservation from day 1). The site just asked me to enter all the financing info, etc, but no VIN listed yet. Current state on the site is to wait for a delivery date.

I think I'm more anxious about getting the model 3 than I was the model S... seems like a much better fit for me, even though the S is fantastic.

I also just got my first email from the ISA in Las Vegas saying my Delivery is tentatively scheduled for 10/2 in Raleigh. Holy cow that was fast!

Reservation: None
Order Entry: 9/1/18

LR - RWD, Silver Metalic, 18” Aeros, Premium Black, EAP

Yikes! That’s awesome, I can only hope mine will come through as fast! I ordered the day before you and haven’t heard anything yet.

I was out at the Raleigh Service Center getting my Model S serviced on Saturday... had a long convo about their woes there -- you can tell the staff is a little frustrated because they can't push vehicles through as quickly as they'd like, and no one is too happy about the Charlotte thing. But as always, the service team there is super helpful... easier to solve a space problem than it is to solve a people problem, so hopefully this will all clear up before too long.

FWIW my IDA (who told me Monday my car was on the train from Freemont to Alabama) is now saying he estimates it'll be in Raleigh around Sept 17th.... but can't give me an actual delivery date.... or a VIN... or a sales contract to give to the credit union... he also can't add FSD before delivery even though he agrees it's just a software push and numerous other folks have had exactly that done.

And he made sure to mention the 9/17 date wasn't firm since Raleigh has been having logistical problems.

Good thing I got a 60 day lock on the loan I guess.

Quick update- it's now 15 days since ISA claimed the car was on the train to Alabama... and as of today claimed it was 'still on its way to Alabama'

That's a pretty slow train.

Still no actual delivery date or sales contract, still says no to adding FSD, though as I think I mentioned before I was at least able to trick him into giving my my VIN even if he didn't realize he was doing it at the time.

Also asked when I should expect a trade in offer based on the info I submitted 15 days ago- he said they just needed a copy of my title.

I pointed out I'd sent one. Directly to him. 15 days earlier. At his direct request. In the very email thread he was replying to to ask for one today.

He apologized and said he'd get me a quote as soon as he could from the trade in team.

I mean- guess it's a good thing he missed it the first time since the quote is only good for 30 days and I'm pretty clearly missing THAT window from original ship-from-factory date.

I doubt it. I picked my car up a few days ago, and the Delivery Manager told me that the Vegas office is scheduling deliveries at about twice the rate they're able to complete them. So every week that goes by, they get further and further behind.
Was told that raleigh is supposed to do 800 deliveries on September.....ummmm yeah ok.
Agree with Jimmy, if you want to get it close to on time, just go to charlotte

Just had a personal visit to Charlotte, and it's actually not too far from Raleigh. I would rather go pick from Charlotte (especially if you are trading the car in) and save wait time.
However, if you are just buying without any trade-in, I don't think there's choice but waiting at home.

The problem is why the heck the Vegas ISAs continue to push that many cars to Raleigh when the storage issue is still there. As I said before, the Vegas ISAs seem to have to clue or don't care about the logistic problem in Raleigh.

@Knightshade I think my car is on that same "train" It's been in the "in-transit" stage for 20 days. No VIN, No delivery date.

Who is your ISA? As I mentioned many times in the past, there are several quite incompetent ISAs in the Vegas area. They never go any extra miles to facilitate the communications. What they did is sending couple of milestone emails. That's it. When there is a bottleneck somewhere, they never do anything to work it around.

On the other hand, the actual delivery specialists in Raleigh are super helpful.

At what point do they hand you over to the local DS?
