Very happy to report a successful car delivery :)

Got there around noon (Wilmington st lot) there were lots of Teslas and people... a bunch of volunteers that the Tesla folks were basically using to do the "walk through" of the car as they only had a couple people there themselves...

so the story I got was the Charlotte folks were supposed to do prep on the cars, and have basically been doing a crap job of it, and the Raleigh SC has been trying to fix whatever they can fix as quick as they can.

That was the explanation for why my car was delivered with only 1 keycard, not 2... and without any phone cables whatsoever.

Also with an incorrect window sticker not showing EAP or FSD.

The good news though is apart from a couple tiny spots that the Raleigh SC buffed right out to perfect in about 5 minutes, I couldn't find a thing wrong with the car.

Even had a decent charge on it (bit over 200 miles).

The customer experience specialist guy who helped me out previous was at the Wilmington lot BTW and was again simply outstanding- friendly, helpful, and unlike most of the remote IDA folks I've talked to really knew what he was talking about and went out of his way to help.... when I pointed out the only issues I found were those couple of spots on the paint, and he heard I was taking it for PPF right after, he called over the to SC to ask if they could squeeze me in for a few minutes right then just to fix them and they did.

I seriously want to know this guys manager to tell him how good an employee they have in that guy.

Also, since I had to swing by the SC after pickup for them to buff out those 2 spots I also stopped by the actual store down the street.

Which was also packed.

But they still had one of the day-1 orderers model cars to give me :)

The SC had a ton of Model 3s back there too, and there were 2 more car trailers worth parked on the street in front too... they're delivering like crazy.

Anyway to avoid the "pics or it didn't happen" thing here's one as I waited for the SC guy to take it in for a minute.

The Delivery Manager name is Mike. Not sure his last name but he was my point guy tonight.

Was supposed to be at downtown lot at 6 but Charlotte called me and said go to Sales Center as lot closes downtown. Got there at 7 and Mike told me truck wasn't there yet, no one told him when it left and driver had not answered his phone yet. 15 minutes he told me it was halfway there and maybe I should grab a bite to eat.

I Uber to eat and 2 hours later he calls me and says car is there and ready as it had already been detailed. 15 minutes later I am back and he is putting the plate on. It's 10:30 and all employees are leaving, he shows me how to lock it (that was my only real necessary question as I have the video's basically on loop) and I'm gone. The whole process was 15 minutes and I was perfectly happy with that.

The Delivery Manager was really cool, as was all the employees I spoke with, but man you could tell they have put some hours in. They do deserve some kudo's/bonuses/Space X flights.

Outside of the delivery the car is pretty much the most awesome thing I've ever had. I only drove it 15 minutes. That is how long it took me to figure it out.

Good luck to you all. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Mike is the guy that I was referring to also who stabilized my delivery. From paperwork, detailing, engagement, team direction, SC communication, next steps - he touched all aspects - glad he was engaged.

I may be speaking out of my area here but it seems to have about 8 "slots" left. A majority of the other switches are very low numbers, most "20", the highest in there is "30". Again, I don't really know what I'm talking about, but learning! :)

I have an electrician coming to take a look on Monday.
If anyone is reading this in the future and would like a Data Point on charging installation. I got a quote from CMC electric for $980. Obviously that was ridiculous, we were able to settle for $650. I just went ahead and took it. He had no idea that Tesla included a "charging station" from within a cord. He was impressed, and praised Tesla Engineering. He'll be installing a NEMA 14-50 plug tomorrow morning.

So glad to hear a happy ending to your story! The car is absolutely amazing. Picked it up Friday, and drove to and from Greenville SC from Charlotte Saturday morning. Used autopilot the entire time. Such an enjoyable drive. Congrats!!! Are you doing the Oct 22nd Tesla mountains drive?

heh, only got to drive it as far as the PPF place- not even enough time/distance for AP to calibrate and enable itself...

Also noticed the car isn't in my Tesla app yet- and tesla.com account still says my car will be delivered Sept-Nov 2018....guessing they're a bit behind updating cars in the system that were actually delivered...

Not familiar with the mountain drive thing..... 22nd is a Monday?

I have the same thing.... Delivered on Thursday and still no car in the app. I'm trying to get in touch with a SC to get it fixed. I want to use Summon!

I got delivery on Thursday and my app started working last night. Hopefully yours will start working soon. In conjunction with the app starting to work, I got an email titled "Tesla Quick Guide to Ownership". I guess this email was sent when the backend system was updated to show my car as delivered.

Did anyone who get delivered in Raleigh schedule any service appointment yet? I tried to do so for an noise issue. Guess what. No appointment is available for October. The earliest they can do is November. A whole month from now on.

With more and more cars coming to Raleigh, I am curious how the Raleigh service center will be able to handle the workload.

I was there yesterday, they mentioned they're hiring another guy for the SC, and at least 3 more rangers.

Still doesn't seem like that'd be nearly enough though.

Just watch in a few months Elon'll tweet how they're now in "service hell" because just like nobody thought of "Hey, maybe we should figure out in advance how to deliver 80,000 cars a quarter, huh?" nobody seems to have thought about servicing that many either.

Got a call from Vegas early last week they'd have my inventory S ready soon, and they were going to do a home delivery.

Got an email late Wednesday night from the Raleigh team that it was supposed to arrive Friday, and scheduled a pickup at the sales office for 2pm Saturday, and would try to convert it to a home delivery if they could.

Tried to call Friday afternoon to confirm everything, couldn't get through. Tried a couple times Saturday morning with the same result, so we just showed up at 2. At first they told me they had it at the S. Wilmington St. lot and I needed to go over there, then after she left to double check everything realized it was still on the truck somewhere in Maryland. Got the first year's service comped for our trouble, and I'm relatively understanding about everything, but was really hoping we'd get it this weekend after it was already delayed by Florence.

Follow-up email from someone else in the delivery department Saturday night said its probably next weekend or early next week now.

Hey @Knightshade, where did you have your PPF done? Impressions?

TVP- Still waiting to get it back (takes them a few days to apply and for it to cure) will report back after

Hoping by the time it's done Tesla will have gotten around to actually reporting the car as delivered in their system so I can use the app :)
This would make my life good as well. Contacted the SC and they told me there's nothing they can do until the "paperwork" goes through, if it hasn't updated in two weeks, give them a holler.

I REALLY want to use summon! haha

With 55,329 Model 3, and 80,000 overall deliveries , double last quarter , you can see why lol
An update to this, I got a call from the person who handled my delivery (not my IDA). She told me that my "paperwork" was submitted over the weekend, and that the issue has to do with updating my account "not at a Tesla SC". She told me this should be fixed within a couple hours. Hopefully I can use summon today!
