I’ve noticed twice in the last few days that the headlights or DRLs (I couldn’t tell which since it happens so fast) flash very quickly either on or off. Once I had the car door open in the garage so the lights had turned on, and they “dropped out” for just a split second. Basically I noticed it get dark and then they came back on

Another time I had the opposite happen where they flared for just a brief moment as I approached the locked car in a parking lot.

Has anybody else seen this flaring behavior with the front lights?

The second situation sounds like sentry mode. Do you have it on?

Yes, but why would Sentry mode make the headlights flash for a split second? I’ve never seen this behavior before when Senfry starts recording.

I think It's supposed to deter people by showing them the car is recording. It also lights up the screen with a sentry mode graphic.

that's normal Model S/X/3 all do that when sentry starts becoming active. If you got a sluggish bluetooth on the phone it will usually trigger it when you open the car.
