Spotted in Ontario (not by me). That car has the 7th green plate to be issued in Ontario (GVAA-007), Doug has the 1st one. Tony Falcone on Twitter
Fun encounter tonight in Sausalito, Ca. My Roadster is in the back, and the one in the front has a cool bicycle rack, as it is appropriate in Marin!
It's an SUR (sport utility roadster). Scratches are required. I wonder how they mounted that bike rack?
Paging @chadconway, that's his car Torklift makes a hitch for the Roadster that mounts to the rear subframe - Tesla Roadster EcoHitch
shame they didn't do a hidden design like what i installed into a friend's Miata. there's a removable piece that goes vertically into another receiver. i've seen a Model S hitch with a similar design i'd go for a hole in the underpanel vs. in the rear diffuser. advantage 1.5/2.0 where you cut the metal mesh panel (i think) vs. the diffuser.
another advantage to the Miyata design is that it likely can carry more weight. I am nonetheless intrigued!!
With the ground clearance on the Roadster so low already, is the hitch lowering the clearance even further? Or does it attach in a way that it isn't the lowest point on the vehicle?
it's hard to tell in Augkuo's pic, but the receiver is directly below the license plate and comes through a hole cut in the diffuser
1 1/4" hitch. the thing the bike rack is attached to. this pic, which i got from the TorkLift site looks like it's @augkuo's car!
