Range to set off sentry mode?

How close does someone have to get to the car to set off sentry mode?

I get people walking in front of the car in Peking lots, and they seem to be about 5-6ft away sometimes. Seems to be hit and miss on distance.

I really wish this were configurable. Lots of false sentry alarms
