FOR TESLA MODERATORS this is not under any contract, this was a personal gift from Elon.

I have a rare founders series powerwall.. red and signed... Reason it is not inner contract batteries were not installed..
It was one of the first 200 units off the assembly line with cosmetic defect on the back so it never went to production.

Everything else is installed. Radiator, water cooling all electronics.. just no batteries.. weight 106 lbs on invoice.

For collectors, want a rare 1/200 signed..
I have a firm price, email [email protected]

There should be a rule on TMC like other forums to post a price or be deleted...

What is the point of buying a power storage device without batteries? Can batteries be added? I thought all of the Founders signature models were free to anyone who got 7 or more referrals.

So to correct some myths..
If you received a Founders Series powerwall, from referrals, these are under contract to be installed at the location that it was rewarded..
So these founders series received from referrrals are non-transferable since they do the install, plus the permitting at the residency awarded.

My founder series has no contract, has no limitations, no issues, because it was a personal gift of a unit that was considered cosmetically defective after assembly. All of the internal components according to the creation and based on what i can see without opening it are installed, including the radiator and electronics, as it weights 106 lbs... it's a full unit just missing the batteries...

If someone wanted to add batteries by all means you probably can, however that would require you to open it, and take away from the fact this is a rare 1 of 200 units that never went into production "EVER"...

And for the person asking for price or be deleted, i can agree with you on that note, i always hated it as well, just didn't know if that would be permitted here.
So lets see if it gets deleted, but i am asking $5,000... It's complete minus batteries, new units now run $7,500 and those are not signed..
Also if you go to actual Tesla Forums you'll notice signed founders series are not available for transfer, so unless you get your referrals.. and now it isn't even available anymore... You will not be able to get your hands on one.

So this is RARE and i did indicate it's for a collector... You want Elon, Franz, J.B signature....? here's your chance...

So, if I understand correctly, you received this, personally, from Elon as a gift, right? And now you are selling this personal gift to the highest bidder. Did you tell Elon that you're using his gift to make an extra buck, rather than for the intent he gave it to you for?

It's senseless to judge a person by what he's selling. Who cares? I am 100% sure Elon doesn't. I am 100% sure he doesn't even remember anything related to this at all. It 's not like Elon toiled away to give the OP a very thoughtful and personalized gift and now he's trying to flip it.

It's not much different than selling a founders/signature series Model S. Then of course that would be an actual functioning as opposed to this non-functioning powerwall....

Is it even possible to acquire the proper battery modules for PW2 to install into this shell? It's not like there's a market out there for salvaged PW2s to source just the batteries. And it's not like you can just go buy a thousand 2170s and pop them into the PW2 and make it work.

I guess I just don't see how an empty PW2 shell, even signed by the Three Amigos, is worth $5k. It's a very large object so people would need to display it somewhere.. but if it's empty, what's the point of that? The only use I could see for this is for Tesla themselves to use it as a prop in a store or event and they probably have hundreds of these minor-defect shells laying around. I guess if someone was really jonesing for a signed PW2, they could buy a regular PW2 and swap the cover, but that's one expensive signed PW2.

You could probably sell it for $1k pretty quickly. I don't think you're going to get $5k for it, but good luck with the sale.
