Has anyone experienced rattles over rough roads in the two front headrests. Since you cannot move them up or down manually not sure how to stop them from rattling.

So that's where the jewels are hidden......

Sorry, couldn't resist, but I don't think mine has any jewels hidden anywhere :-(

TESLA says there is no fix. Perhaps if someone has a home made solution they could post it here.

So what I did was to take a felt pad used for under furniture or to protect table tops and pushed it up between the seat and the head rest far enough to not be seen and enough to stop the rattle but not inhibit the head rest from moving. It had adhesive on one side and that keeps it in place. Works like a charm, the pad was around 3/16 in thickness.

Nothing to see, the felt pads are hidden behind the headrests.

Hmm. This may be where my rattle is coming from too. Did you find it while having someone drive the car with you in the back listening or just holding onto the headrest to stabilize it?

Just holding the headrest works. You can shake by hand too. Side to side and back to front will make noise.

Are you sure it is not the Seat Belt buckle? It was in mine.

With mine it was the head rests, real obvious when you drive on a rough road you will hear it then just hold the headrest firmly and it goes away. Very annoying because it is right by your ear.

It's the headrests in mine too. When I took the car in the first time, back in April, they confirmed it was "normal". I live on a gravel road so I hear it every time I drive.

@Merrill's idea of felt pads is good. I'm going to buy some white ones today, just in case some of it is visible. I'll let the thread know how it goes/works. And I'll let my SC know when I take it in later this month.

I held mine during the rattle test yesterday and it did not solve the problem. My rattle must be coming from further back. I will need a driver (spouse?) so I can climb about in the car to see if I can find the location(s).

    Thanks Merrill,
That worked like a charm for sure.
I put the adhesive side on the seat since the headrest moves up or down with the seat position and might expose the felt. The felt was tan colored and seats are black but I pushed it in far enough so I cannot see any sign of the felt.

    No more rattles

Glad that worked for you, it is an easy fix and now I have to work on the drivers seat belt retractor that some time buzzes. If I touch it sometimes the buzzing stops but temporarily.
