How does Tesla back out of a parking space when Summon is used if it can’t detect rear cross traffic?

Slowly? Summon is fun to watch as people walk faster by it and a couple times at Costco the idiot that's too lazy to walk to his/her car gets comments from the people trying to park and having to wait for this slow/ frequently stopping car to get out of the way.
I see it as a useful feature for people with mobility issues but not yet. Its too slow and inconsistent.
