Mine does this and I gaave up on it, you can adjust the stoppers on the truck lid that rest of the taillights to hold it up higher but then the trunk didnt sit low enough.

if you climb in the trunk and close it you can see how badly the trunk lid contours to opening, i see daylight thru mine even tho everything looks fine on the outside
I'm 6' 3" and prefer to fold the rear seats down and climb through there with the trunk lid already closed. I had the same thing that I observed a few days after delivery. I had the ranger adjust the trunk lid to stop the unwarted contact. Then the ranger sent word that I had to get my trunk lid and bumper repainted for which I waited 3 months.

There IS a way to check for this issue on delivery, before damage is done. Take a thick business card and run it between the bumper and the closed trunk lid. It becomes really easy to see if it’s too tight in certain places.

I just adjusted mine a bit by turning the stoppers, and then running the business card through to see if it helped and how much. Results are “marginal”... better than before, but not enough to really prevent further damage.

I had to turn the inside stoppers creating 1/4” more height... and that barely solved my problem. The stoppers on the side can not be turned much as this will really mess up the side alignment.

The next thing to try is Xpel film with my recent adjustments. If that doesn’t work I’ll go to my Tesla Service Center... but I’m not wailing to be without my car for days or weeks for such a small issue, nor do I want them to make a “major repair” out of it.

Thank you all for sharing. Because of you I was able to finally fix this!!!
I first noticed the rubbing during inspection while picking up my car from Fremont factory. It then took almost 2 months for Tesla to schedule an appointment to address this and a couple other issues. I was sent over to a local body shop which is contracted by Tesla to take care of minor issues. After leaving the car with them for 3 days they did almost nothing to fix the trunk issue. They assured me it was a bumper molding issue and couldn't do much to improve the rubbing.
I thought it was a lost cause but decided to give it another try today. Came across this thread(and a couple more on google) and when I checked my car I saw the weather gasket was NOT installed properly. Took me 5-10min to reseat it and the rubbing is gone!! What a relief...
