Beyond my normal not-very-often cleaning of the car I never have to do anything. I think it depends a lot where you drive. I wonder if you could put some kind of ledge under it to stop mud hitting it.
I find that the Model 3 camera isn't as bad as the one on the Prius for getting dirty. The Prius camera was dreadful, I got into the habit of wiping it every time I got in the car, but in wet weather it would get covered in muck within a few miles.

I've got 2.5 miles of single track road to the first A road. This time of year it's covered in mud and rotting leaves and it doesn't matter what you treat your car with it'll be covered iin muck by the time you get there....
I’ve been driving a Nissan Leaf, got in the habit of wiping the reversing camera most times I opened the boot (eg charge cables). Will be a bit nostalgic having to do the same on a Tesla model 3
