It would also be convenient if the rear camera were turned off when the tailgate is open, as when hauling a load of wood. Seeing a closeup of the road going by is of negative value.

Or change to the "alternate" camera behind the tailgate - on one of the side brake stacks - so that there is no interrupted rear view camera. Of course there isn't such a camera, but there could have been.
