Rear Drive Unit Failed During Pre-Delivery Inspection

Was supposed to pick up the car tomorrow (August 1) and just got a call from the delivery center that the rear drive unit failed inspection and a new one has to be ordered. Another 2 weeks before that is received.

My delivery specialist has a message to my ISA about time frame for a newly assigned VIN with my configuration.

What would you do - have the service center replace drive unit on current VIN or request a new VIN?

FYI, currently assigned VIN was 373XX.

Does not give me confidence to accept a new car with a failed drive motor before delivery.

Clearly the push to 5,000 cars per week has had consequences with QC.

QC can't catch what hasn't failed.
Drive unit swap is a non-issue for Tesla to perform, but the choice is up to you.
