I just pulled the video from my in-side car cam.

I was slowed to exactly 26mph at the time of impact, and she hit me hard enough to push me up to 34mph. To force a car to speed up 8mph while under regen braking is a hell of a hit. The time stamp is off on that camera, but you can tell by the music, my "arrrgh" and the crunch, its the same time. That camera does not have any GPS or Wifi on it to keep it synced.

You hit the accelerator when she hit you. Notice the power gauge briefly going to ~200 kW at the time of impact.

You can step through YouTube videos frame-by-frame by pausing the video and pressing . and , on your keyboard.

75D Uncorked. However, it had the P series motors. When they had it in for service they showed me. So it was limited by battery output, best 0-60 so far was 3.9s, with a 100% SoC.
Here’s what you do, first rebadge it as P100D, then take to body shop and Tesla and Say gee wiz, by the way I was wondering why I was only getting 250 miles of range on my P100D? Then act really shocked when they tell you it was an error :)

Salvage car? If Tesla sold it like this, they sold you a 75D with lower than advertised efficiency (P motors are less efficient, my P85D has less raged range than my wife's S75D).

Last night I was rear-ended by a HOV Lane Cheater. She hit me at over 70mph.

I was traveling at 58mph, and then slowed to 43 before impact. As you can see in the video she came in HOT, and didn't even attempt to break, we estimated her speed to be in excess of 70mph. The only positive note to this is that I suffered minor injuries mostly minor whiplash and some arm muscle pains. Doctors say 2-4 days to get back to life in full.

Damages:
Frame Damage - Rear frame is coming out of the back bumper, she hit that and what caused her to cue-ball off me.
Quarter Panel has great big dent and creases.
Lift Gate is Bent
Rear Bumper is destroyed
Both Drivers side doors stick and creak now when opening and closing.
Diags report an air leak in the suspension and camera issues.
Door lines are no longer straight and even.
Lift Gate lines are no longer straight and even
The entire left side is pushed forward some causing the lines on body panels to be misaligned.
Has vibration and pulls to left while driving.

This does not include the damage that is hiding underneath. I have no idea what's there.

My general thoughts have me thinking it's totaled as repairs would be many months, and it would never be the same.

Not sure if it will make you feel any better ("misery likes company"?) but as far as getting rear-ended on a highway goes, it could have been worse. My wife got hit last year, car was totaled (though notice that it also had front end damage). The woman who caused the accident left the scene and was never found - her car registration was expired and she didn't live at the old address anymore, which is where state police ended their attempts to locate her. Insurance went a little farther, but also struck out. The entire claim came out of uninsured motorist coverage. Here is the video (damage pictures at the end). Initial "visual" damage estimate was $16K, once they dug in a couple of weeks later, they stopped estimating when they reached $65K and let the insurance declare it a total loss.

Make sure you file for a diminished value claim as well. That's going to kill resale value on the car, so you'll want to get that paid for up front. Esp something that new you're probably looking at 20k in lost value that her insurance company has to pay for

I'm new to Tesla. How do you get those videos?

If you guys are in need of dashcam Viofo A129 Duo has fantastic optics in night and day and is cheap $169. Fantastic value.

Don't bother view Blackvue. Too expensive and optics (f=value) is not great. If you need parking surveillance then go with Thinkware F800pro. Viofo also has parking surveillance but i'm not sure if it's pre buffered. Make sure your cam has Starvis sensor as it best sensor available.

Sorry this accident happened to you. With footage you have nothing to worry about. She can make whatever claims she wants. I won't matter.

Salvage car? If Tesla sold it like this, they sold you a 75D with lower than advertised efficiency (P motors are less efficient, my P85D has less raged range than my wife's S75D).

Nope brand new, built to order. There were VERY few cars around that time that I ordered in Feb of 2017 that got P series motors with 75 batteries.

The BlackVue 750 has the Starvis sensor and parking monitoring. Its also prebuffered.

Thanks. I am sure there is more damage that is hiding underneath.

I have been in close touch with DPS and her insurance company.

I just got rear ended too - thanks for this thread, lots of good info.

I'm already missing my 100D terribly. I don't know if I can wait to buy a new one. I get to find out tomorrow if they are going to fix or total it.

Yes, you can if the value they try to low ball you with is not up where it should be,
They can't just arbitrarily force you to accept their valuation on a totaled vehicle. You don't agree with the settlement proposed by the insurer you're not obligated to accept. There is recourse. None of it has to do with DV. The value of the replacement car is going to be equal to or greater than the totaled vehicle.
Several years ago my vehicle was declared a total loss. The other parties insurer accepted full responsibility. The offer from said insurer was unacceptable to me because they didn't want to pay for the PPF, window andtint ceramic coding I had added. Rather than fight with them my insurer paid the value of car and cost to reapply items above. They deducted by deductable from check but then returned to be when they collected from other insurance company. Easy Peesy. YMMV

8 cameras and the car didn't speed up to lessen or avoid the impact. It's what a human would have done.

I was rear-ended at a red light by someone going about 45 mph in my new Model 3 Dual Motor(only 1600 miles). Thought it was going to be totalled but they are fixing everything. It has taken about 3 months... Can't tell you the total cost but I believe it was close to 30k.
