Sorry that happened but very relieved to hear you and the wife are OK. Hopefully damage isn't that bad/structural. Whiplash injuries can often stay hidden so I would recommend you and her get at a bare minimum checked out by your PCP or ED if you have any pain/soreness anywhere.

Aww man I'm sorry that happened! Glad you and your wife are safe. Were you at a complete stop?
Was going maybe 10 mph/ Dropped off to Tesla Pomona this morning for a different appointment for interior issue i had. Insurance going to call them to get estimate since it is there already. She going to get an appt for doc, else we going to make appt with Chiro.

So sorry to hear, and hope your wife feels better soon. For whatever reason, I've had 6 accidents like yours where folks have rear-ended me, and I found that it is worth it to make sure you have a professional check out your neck and back, even if the pain isn't terrible. Every time I've had some type of either soft tissue damage (2 torn discs), or needed a 3-4 weeks of chiropractic adjustment because of the forces of the accident on the neck into the base of my skull.

Also, given the damage in the pics, I won't be surprised if the total exceeds $12K. Very similar damage to 2 of my X5s, and it was $12-15K each time, even though the damage didn't look too bad.

I made appt to repair with Tesla Early July. Sent pics of damage to Wawanesa for estimate on Friday, waiting to hear back. Once that is done then Tesla can order parts(2-3 weeks to get).
Why don’t you take it to a Tesla Certified Body Shop? That may be quicker and you wouldn’t have to wait till July to start the repair process. You can find the Tesla Certified Body shops here Body Shop Support

I had my MY passenger mirror broken by a lane-splitting motorcycle last week. I thought it was interesting that Wawanesa's estimate for repair was $300 MORE than what my local SC estimated.

My SC was able to get me in for repair this week, and I prefer that they do the work in any event.
