I've had an incredibly annoying rattle for about 6 months. It drove me crazy. I tried everything to identify it and found only last week that it was the rear latching mechanism. I picked up a new one today and bench tested it for rattles, It produced several, so I took it apart to identify the sources. I found three: one from the safety release mechanism (two sources) another from the plastic shell. I used small pieces of foam and double sided tape to fix them. On the bench it's now rattle free. I'll install it tomorrow and report back.
Anyone else had this problem? It seems to be an issue with the design, so I suspect it's been a problem for others.
