Rear light-pipe effects

    Although half-confirmed by Franz von Holzhausen, I remain cautiously optimistic that we'll see the light-pipe rear lighting effects demonstrated on early prototypes.

    Jaguar's C-X16 concept uses the same sort of lighting to great effect:

    I think this is necessary to differentiate the Model S slightly among the spectrum of vehicles using now-commonplace matrices of individual LED "bulbs."

    I am sure those round lights were never "production intent". They might just be test fixtures to test the wiring harness or something like that.

    Most people seeing the car from the back are going to be thinking "Whaaa was that?" and not looking at your taillights. :wink:
