Rear view camera stuttering

Anyone else started to experience choppy viewing and slight lag on the rear view camera the past few weeks since a recent update?

It certainly isn't fun when reversing and worrying about hitting something due to the cameras needing to catch up

Yes. A few others have reported it too. Hopefully it’s resolved in the next update.

Lodged a service request for this (just to promote them fixing it soonest). Didn’t think it was fit for purpose/thought the display misleading in the supermarket car park this morning. Video stuttered, and it was only the ultrasonics that saved me - and I don’t think I reverse fast.

Yeah noticed this myself. Not massively impressed with the rear view camera quality I have to say either.

You possibly have the three with the cable issue? I haven't been opening my trunk since I got the email

Same problem here. I’ve actually had this issue since the last few updates.

Wasn’t an issue when I originally got the car a few months ago.

I have the same problem, and I think is a bug , not cable related.

Same problem here but only once. I put it down to a software glitch becasue it was straight after the update.

This is another reason we need to be able to have some control over the software and possibly rollback feature as breaking features isn't great like the Voice Recognition used to work flawlessly when I originally got the car but not now

appears to be fixed with version 2021.44.30.7 that I received last night. I am a USA customer, but i think its the same issue, started right after the new user interface update.

My stuttering seems to have got even worse today. I can be reverting then all of a sudden the image will jump and I’ll have moved 3/4 meters closer to the object and because it’s not a smooth image its hard to tell how fast your actually reversing towards an object!

The reverse camera stutterings is certainly on 2021.44.30.7 release.

Just updated to 30.7 and also just noticed the stuttering when parking, never seen this before tonight so it must be related to the latest update.

When you refer to a 'rear view' camera . . . is that a reversing camera or does it also have a rear view 'dashcam'?

Yes, the V11 upgrade introduced this.

It’s still going on with the latest update, I suspect they didn’t test it properly on all hardware but what can we do about it…

I've had a front cam in all my cars for at least the past 10 years and wouldn't be without one. On what/where does the cam in the M3 record stuff and how do you view it?

There is a dashcam viewer app on the screen. Videos from all dashcams (front, rear, driver and passenger side) are recorded to a USB memory stick located in the glove compartment. The glove compartment can be locked requiring a pin to open.
