Got a stupid question, I was at the mall today doing Christmas shopping. I stopped by Tesla to sit in the Model Y. Sales guy comes over and asks if I have any questions. And I complain that my EDD was pushed. He looked up my account and said I have not shown proof of insurance and that caused it to get pushed. I was like uh I do not even have a VIN. He said we just need a copy of your current insurance. Then he said I need to switch over from finance to paying cash. Then I can switch it back later.

What is this all about? I am logged into the Tesla now and I can't even upload my insurance. Why would the even care now?

hes full of *sugar*.... once VIN is assigned, that's when you'll need to provide proof of insurance.

I was assigned vin, then asked to complete insurance and final payment

• Delivery Window:
  • Through Dec. 3 - Original delivery date was Jan 7 - Feb 5.
  • Dec. 4 - delivery window changed to January 28 - February 25

Got pushed 21 days.

That’s our exact config with the exception of FSD. We are at 12/5-12/17. Expecting another change shortly.

So I got vin couple days ago and today i'm going through the doc. they have on the bottom of the tesla page. My agrrement doc has my vin and the MYP has 15miles on it already. Is this normal or is this a reject?

Normal to have ~50 miles on new Teslas

That's normal. You will notice 15 miles will also be listed on the MVPA. My MYP I picked up last year had a bit less though.

Just woke up to first ever EDD that moved in and narrowed! Was 1/6-2/3 now showing 12/19-12/31. OD was 9/20 for a Black/Black, No Tow, No FSD.

Let's hope mine is getting built this coming week!

Some - updates:

Car 1 (MSM MYP BLK Interior No tow) - OD 11/5, EDD 12/17-12/31; put on hold 11/13, hold date listed as 2/27/22

Car 2 (MSM MYP BLK Interior No tow) - OD 12/4, EDD 1/22 - 2/19; may put on hold if it appears 4680s are rolling out and I will miss the window with car 1.

This is great news (if true). I was already planning on swapping the Pirellis out for the AS4's and wondering how hard it would be to re-sell the used Pirellis later.

I think it depends on your state. I was asked for proof of insurance a couple weeks before I ultimately got my VIN. You only get the insurance question once you complete all the other tasks (finance & trade-in).

It seems the red/white interrior combo MYP people get pushed back the most. Something about that multi-stage paint combined with availability of the white interior makes scheduling take longer with more push backs.

My red/white/no tow/no FSD with OD of 10/03 is now at 12/5 - 12/18 EDD picking up in Burbank. So it's a race between the two of us who gets it first

Did you complete all the pre delivery tasks? Did you pick what you want your finance terms to be and was it approved and locked in? If not then yes it can delay your order. Do you have a trade-in? Tesla reps tell people to just set terms to cash with no trade-in because trade in offers expire after 30 days and finance approval terms I think need re-approval after 60, so anything you lock in now will be expired by the time you actually get a VIN.

When you do get a VIN it is simple to just call your rep and tell them you want to finance or do a trade-in. They can easily unlock those options for you to adjust before you schedule your delivery date.
