Just stopped by the Vegas Tesla location and they checked "their internal system that gives a better idea of the dates for delivery" and wouldnt you know it, he said it looks like Ill be receiving it 9.22 - 9.30. Im out of town 9.24 - 9.28. He said they could not hold it more than 2 business days. This should be fun... and by fun I mean a ****ing nightmare. lol

I'm bracing for the same....out of town 9/22-9/28. If I'm lucky I get a VIN in the next couple days and try to pick it up same day. Otherwise, I'll have to see what sort of concessions they might be willing to make. I'd guess my chances are pretty slim given how many other Bay Area people would gladly accept it if it got released.

To give you the skinny, he basically said "I have no clue where you will end up in line if you give the car up" could be a week, could be 5 more weeks. Ill be playing golf at Muirfield Village so zero chance Im cutting this trip short. lmao

Some vehicles waiting for pick up. While I was waiting they probably drove in at least 10 more Teslas. They were using a nearby parking structure to accommodate deliveries because I guess their EOQ delivery amount is too high.

Tesla playing with emotions per usual....Congrats! I wonder if someone released their car and it went to you. Not sure if you would care about such things, but recent VINs have been in the 270's if you are curious how old it might be!

Regardless, what a nice Friday gift
Thanks!!!

Mine is in the 266 so it might be someone who canceled an order or maybe rejected due to issues. Delivery scheduled for Monday. Will have to inspect the vehicle inside and out

I figured as much. If they can hold it for an additional 2 business days on top of the limited range of days where delivery would be available, I'm hoping that I don't get a VIN right before or at the beginning of my trip, because I might just be able to swing a delivery on the 29th/30th.

Feels less likely with each new piece of info I see though. Someone on reddit in the Bay Area said they spoke with an SA who alluded to a bunch of deliveries getting planned for 9/21-9/30. Grain of salt obviously but it does look to be the case.

Mine was also 266, and arrived today at the SC. The tag on the window said it was made on September 7th. I pick it up tomorrow.

FWIW the Vegas Tesla center was absolutely buzzing. No parking spots, cars everywhere, people everywhere, it was absolutely packed.

Car arrived. No real flaws at all. Very impressed with fit and finish. Has mud flaps and ppf.

What advantage do you think the wall charger provides? From what I have seen and per the electrician I use who is a tesla owner he said the added price does not justify the minimal increase in charging speed from a 50amp 220V outlet.

the only advantage is the potential slightly higher in charge speed, correct, with a 60A breaker used. That is the main consideration.
Also not sure if there are other wifi wall charger feature on function or status reporting that the "car side" is not going to give you.....

Any VINs out today? I’m trying to stay positive but this is starting to get ridiculous - I’m on my third EDD.
No VINs that I've seen today. I get the impression that this next wave coming up are currently models being produced (likely just getting final missing parts but maybe some new factory builds as well), hence the SEPTEMBER texts to plan out whose getting the vehicles in this batch. Those who got VINs yesterday I assume were the last units to be assigned in the previous batch.

I can't find any info online about Tesla's standard build cycles (for example, how many vehicles go into a batch that gets assigned out to people and how often those batches are produced in full) but I'm not sure Tesla is able to keep up with normal cycles at the moment. It's been confirmed that supply shortages have resulted in ModelY/3's sitting in lots waiting on missing parts and they've been pushing to get cars completed and sent out.

All of this is to say I anticipate a large VIN wave truly any day (fingers crossed it's tomorrow or Sunday) but I think even Tesla is less certain these days
