I was answering thread 8695 where I was told to read some threads, sorry but I am new to this and still can't find an answer as to why MYP are delivered a lot faster than MYLR, @dewter seems to know, but does not want to share.

Turn your phone to landscape! Sig's will appear thenI’m mobile and don’t see sigs, thanks though.
I wouldn’t be asking if I could see it.
Anddddddddd I’m officially old . Thanks for the tip. I was looking at settings and all .Turn your phone to landscape! Sig's will appear then
Almost the exact same order details, 11/2 MYP Grey/Black. No Tow/FSD. Delivery is to Portland, OR and it’s said Est delivery of 12/15-12/30 since day one with no updates.I'm in Central FL. My configuration is white/black myp, no other options

Nahhh it's ok I couldn't figure it out for the longest time. Not intuitive at all IMO, any orientation should show all infoAnddddddddd I’m officially old . Thanks for the tip. I was looking at settings and all .
Annnnnnnnd just pushed back to 1/4 - 2/1 overnightLol,
I’m 11/1 MYP, Grey, Black also Portland. My EDD was 12/15 - 12/30 for the first few weeks and now it’s 12/25 - 12/31. Figure it’ll be last few days of Q4. Maybe I’ll see you there, ha.
At least it moves you into the potential range for the tax credit. I’d be ok with that if I were in your position.Annnnnnnnd just pushed back to 1/4 - 2/1 overnight
Ya, I’m ok with that obviously, but at one point, I read it’d likely be one per person. Anyone know if that is true?At least it moves you into the potential range for the tax credit. I’d be ok with that if I were in your position.
It's been awhile since I've driven a Ferrari, but I don't remember it pulling like a Tesla. Cornering is a different story...View attachment 737550Actual competition identified.
Just to set you straight since nothing you wrote here is accurate. The Performance is more profitable for Tesla so they prioritize production of it over the Long Range. That's why you see the shorter delivery times. Same with the other models, the most expensive version has the shortest delivery time.I have been doing that for the last hour, maybe I'm just not putting 2 and 2 together. I know the 4680 batteries should be in the LR, maybe that's the delay due to the two castings, and there is the Berlin, Freemont and Texas factories. Maybe the MYP is only made in one factory. I did hear the 2170 cells should be better than the 4680 for acceleration.
That first point may or may not be accurate, it's a reasonable theory but there could be other factors.Just to set you straight since nothing you wrote here is accurate. AFAIK the Model Y is only being built at Fremont and China, so all North America Model Y's are coming out of Fremont. Austin is not online yet.
Lastly the 4680 batteries are not in any of the production cars yet. And nobody knows what the effect will be on range or performance, it's all just speculation at this point.
You're probably right. I'm sure it's more complex than just profitability. I'm sure the market demand for the LR is more than the P. And most likely the SR demand was so high that they had to pull it off the website as their backlog probably filled up. But they probably didn't want to spend all their time building SR models when they had demand for LR and P models that were more profitable, so I'm sure it factored in to the build algorithm. That first point may or may not be accurate, it's a reasonable theory but there could be other factors.
One simple example would be predicting demand for the MYP to be 10%, and building 1 980 motor for every 10 990 (the one in the MYLR afaik). If MYP actual demand turned out to be 5%, it would explain why turnaround is faster for these vehicles. There may be other parts unique to the MYP that are creating similar phenomenon.
I'm not some supply chain analyst or specialist but what happens during production may not always be driven by profitability.
