bummer, but think of it this way... anyone getting a car with AP 2 hardware won't even have AP1 features until December and self driving features at some undisclosed date in the future.

If you have the cash and want to drop the extra money then trade it in and pay the difference.

Don't blame the sales person though.. he honestly probably had no idea.

Why not blame them?
They legitimately didn't know. They couldn't have known otherwise it would have leaked or they could have done insider trading. I'm positive they had no clue when it was coming.

However, I will say that if you follow Tesla and the news the YOU knew there was going to be a full autonomy announcement late this year. Elon alluded to it at code conference 2016. If you don't read the news or follow Tesla then I could see how you might have missed it.

You might simply ask the salespeople what your options are before you rack up too many miles.

I dont plan to register or.drive it,
Just not my style, i am not a forum guy ,

5 phone calls no answers from them , waiting , poor reponse by customer loyality specialists,

Thinking of taking loses , and ordering a new one, this is bad but feeling robbed is even worse,
A phone call asking us about new upgrade was enough. Giving a choice is enough, forcing obselete technology is not right,

Jeff thanks for helping me out, i dont hurt people, but i am depressed ,
It's just a case of Buyer's remorse - Wikipedia but I think you'll still be happy with the Model S you have.

People like me cannot afford a Model S and probably never will.

I should mention the promise of a full autonomy demo from LA to NY is set to be "before the end of next year". It might be significant timeframe between now and when full autonomy might be enabled.

I'm sorry you don't feel great about your purchase. I ordered my 70D in May 2016, and got it in June. Almost a week after I had it they announced the 75. I looked at it, wow, extra range, etc., but then thought, wait a minute, why get upset? I have an awesome car that passed the litmus test of my decision to buy it!

I remember being at a supercharger about two months ago, and a guy with the older style S being really upset because he missed the refreshed nose. He was visibly upset that he didn't have the new nose. Now, here I am a couple months later, seeing the new S coming out with the new hardware for AP2.

So, the way I see it, you can do one of two things: Be upset, drive yourself crazy, or accept the fact that you are part of a bigger thing. I look at owning a Tesla as almost being part of a movement towards sustainable transport. This is an ever evolving moment. I mean, how great would Telsa be if it stopped evolving? Evolution means some things become, well, shall we say outdated, fairly quickly.

You can keep your S, or "evolve" later. I would recommend keeping you car. All the reasons you decided to buy it drove you to buy it, and now you own it. ENJOY it! It's a great car! I was very pleased with latest update. I just hit 5,000 miles and absolutely love my car. I'm totally cool with driving this one for several years before trading it in for a newer S. I love this company so much and the product, that I've reserved a Model 3 to boot. That will have the new stuff I'm thinking, and I can keep my "antique" S that I'm driving now.

No matter what, you now have, in your garage, one of the best freaking cars on the road, 5-star safety, autopilot, ELECTRIC vehicle that is zero emissions. Enjoy it! Drive it like you stole it and have fun! Learn the ropes of owning this unique vehicle. I think this would be better than trying to keep up with the latest and greatest... that could get pretty expensive with an evolving product like this.

Seriously, when you placed the order you knew what you are buying and you were fine with it. You will love your car the way it is. Who knows when really the 2.0 AP will be on par with 1.0. It may take some time. Regulations etc... I received my P100D just a month ago. I love to drive myself so the AP is not as important to me. The 1.0 AP is more than capable on long trips and daily driving. It already is the safest car on the road. Enjoy the car you have and maybe 5 years down the road you will upgrade to AP 3.0 and 200kW battery that will be much smaller and lighter and cheaper than the ones we have now.

How can you call the most advanced car on the road obsolete technology?

Anyway good luck with whatever you decide to do. I am just trying to make you feel better about the car you purchased.

Tesla has always been operating like this. You never know when changes come and what they will be until cars like that roll of the production line.

Wait, so did you take delivery of the vehicle already? If not, you can refuse delivery, simply lose your $2500 deposit and order a new one.
Yep. Higher resale value will even make up for some of those $2500 so it's not even that bad when AP2 makes you happy.

I have to admit, I only use the Autopilot occasionally on long trips, and never during local driving... it's just too much fun driving it!

That's exactly right. I feel like I am a passenger while on AP. It's a bit boring . It is really good when you are tired and just need to relax or stuck in traffic. But when I turn it off that's when the fun starts. :) That's when I enjoy the car the most.

The car came off the truck , at.the time mr. Musk announced , odometer at 16 miles , parked car in garage, title papet work will be mailed,
I am.willing to pay to ship back the car.to tesla dealership. And loose deposit, however tesla customer.service still not calling back despite multiple tries,

Let us c , thanks again great suggestion pal

No one stole anything from you. You got everything promised to you and you signed the purchase contract of your own free will.

I have not received my Model X yet and I don't even know if I want to pay $5000 for a feature set that won't be working on day one.

If I take delivery on December 1st I can't be unhappy when something new is released on December 2nd. Someone can take delivery on December 2nd, and be thrilled they didn't get tech like the December 1st people. However, the thrill of the December 2nd people will be short lived, as the December 3rd people have an even better car than them.

Isn't there a 3 day happiness policy?

No. I think you were getting a few different things mixed up. Tesla used to offer a 90 day happiness guarantee on leased vehicles but discontinued that a few months ago when they changed the lease policy and pricing. I believe you were also thinking of a law that applies to items sold by door to door salesmen. It does not specifically apply to a car and unless a door-to-door salesman came and sold you the car at your home I don't believe it would apply. It is a popular misunderstanding though.
