Winter is almost over. Planning to take out my mountain bicycle. But my model 3 has no two hitch. Can anyone recommend a reputable tow hitch and bike rack installer in GTA?
I had Alan from EcoHitch Niagara install mine last year, you can contact him at 905 941 3899. He did a very good job and was able to finish the job really quickly (3-4 hours). Was about $595 for the hitch + 295 labour. Also once the hitch is installed, you can easily install the bike rack yourself, just find a YouTube video on how to do it.
i called around and found this place has done couple dozen installs for model 3. Rack Attack - Racks for Cars, Bikes, Skis, Kayaks & More! the one I called is in Toronto branch. They quoted me $350 for 4 hours of labour. But they will have order the parts to be shipped from USA which estimated to be $850 before tax for parts. Tesla Model 3 Undercover - XA2002 2017-2020 Tesla Model 3 Stealth EcoHitch not sure why the parts seem so expensive
I did mine about 1-1/2 year ago at Rack Attack in Toronto and cost $1150 + tax. The hitch is working well.
In lieu of the Undercover XA2002 part, if you have a 2018-2019 Model 3 before they introduced the rear diffuser with the two hitch door, you can try to order the new diffuser assembly from Tesla that has the OEM door cutout/cover already. It’s part number 1135412-00-A Give Tesla a shout to get the cost. Hope that helps.
Can’t beat U haul prices for Curt hitches. That’s where I buy all of mine. Granted you see it all the time but for $199.... U-Haul: Trailer Hitches & Towing Accessories
thanks. I took delivery of my model 3 on Dec 24th 2019. Manufactory sticker on the driver side says car is manufactured in Dec 2019. but all Paperwork all say 2020 model. does it mean it already have OEM door cutout/cover already?
I ordered this: https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/EcoHitch/306-X7373.html With shipping it was $677 CND and works well for both bikes and utility trailer. The receiver can be easily removed so you don’t see the hitch.
Look underneath your rear bumper area and see if you have the rectangular door cutout as pictured here:
