Recommendations for Tint and Film Specialists in the Seattle/Bellevue Area

I had the phone call with my Tesla delivery specialist yesterday and if there are no unforeseen delays, I could have my Model 3 two weeks from now. I'm looking for recommendations for shops that do tint and PPF that people have gone to with there Model 3's and have been pleased with their work. I'd like to have the entire rear glass done in one piece. I'm (mostly) on the Eastside. I've used Accutint in the past but would like to consider other options if the quality is right and if there's more experience with the Model 3. Thanks.

I used Northwest Auto shield (Neal Rudd @ 206 973 9835) after seeing my friend's Mercedes CL63 AMG which was done by
him 7 years ago. Car still looks perfect, More than happy with the job they did on my 2018 S100D.

I've been looking into this as well, but looking for any recommendations.

I was looking at tinting with 3M cystalline, and on the 3M website, they list only 4 in the area. Out of those places, I've gotten price quotes for Metropolitan detail for $995 + $350(if you want one piece rear window) + $450 (windshield), Advanced Tint for $675 + $325 (windshield), and Skyline Tint Shop for $699 + $250 (windshield). Now, is metropolitan detail worth that extra price, since the shops are listed on the 3M website, they should be good right?

I took my 2014 Model S to Northwest Auto for XPEL Ultimate and Spectra Photosync. I have had no problems with either application.
My 2018 Model S has STEK PPF and 3M Crystalline from Metropolitan Detail. I was a little nervous about STEK because it’s not as well represented in the US as XPEL or any other PPF. I had the full front, rocker panels, and complete rear bumper covered, and its hard to tell the difference from the STEK and the uncovered panels.
I had quotes from both NWAS and MD for my 2018, and they were about the same price. I decided on MD because of a friend’s recommendation and I didn’t want to drive to Lynwood.
Regarding window tints, the 3M Crystalline appears lighter overall to me than the Spectra Photosync for about the same level of tint. It might be because the 3M is on a red car with white interior versus the Spectra on a dark blue car with grey interior.
I think you would be happy with the results from either NWAS or MD.

Did you not like accutint? I was thinking about having them tint the windows of my Model S that is being delivered.

I received my car this Saturday and have an appointment with Advanced Tint in Renton later this week.

I was told by the lead installer that it would be $600 more to do the full window and recommended only doing 40" (max width of their standard roll) for the rear window. According to him the top part of the window is 20% and to match it I could do 20% as well. IMO, 20% is too dark for my liking. Has anyone with a Model 3 attempted to do just the lower part with a tint that is less than that of the roof (say 40%) and how did it turn out? Thanks.

Got the car done yesterday, took the installer 4 hours. I went with 3M Crystalline at 40% on all 5 windows. I installer said that any effects that it would have on radar detectors should be minimal. Very pleased with the way it turned out. The back definitely doesn't need the whole window done to look good. Great service from Advanced Tint, they've done a lot of Model 3's and knew what worked well.

Thanks for sharing. If you don't mind me asking how much did the 3m film cost. I have found window tint prices range from shop to shop. Looks great.

They have a fixed rate for 4 door sedans; $675 + tax for the 3M Crystalline. Other options are a lot cheaper but due to the black interior I wanted something to help reduce the heat build up. Also 3M Crystalline claims less distortion than others.

I got my Bolt tinted with 3M Crystalline 20 at Advanced Tint in Renton by Alex and his colleagues a few weeks ago. Price was $675 for 4 windows and hatchback. The front windshield with Crystalline 70 would have been $375 more. Very pleased with the results.

He came back with $560 for 3m Crystaline including the windshield which seems insanely cheap, but maybe that's because he doesn't have a physical location.....Only two yelp reviews though gives me pause.

Emerald City Tint quotes $299 for full Model S coverage.
Very good ratings. Accutint was booked until July and twice the price.
Will keep you posted on results.
