Tesla doesn't use covers, the performance calipers are painted red.I wonder if we can just order the red covers straight from Tesla parts dept? Are they the same fit?
That's illegal because they are identifiers of the Performance version.
But they look great so you should totally do it. Alternatively, you can look for aftermarket calipers that might even give you a "performance" benefit.
Yes punishable by death. Per Lord Musk himselfLol illegal? Really?
Pretty sure it also voids the warranty.Yes punishable by death. Per Lord Musk himself
LOL!!!!.... voids the warranty because of the caliper color? I mean I've heard of dealers refusing warranty work for a lot of things, but caliper color.....maybe if you actually changed the calipers and they locked up the brakes and your vehicle crashed...but otherwise no. Your change or upgrade has to actually be the cause of the failure at hand for a dealer to have the right to refuse warrentyPretty sure it also voids the warranty.
Hey dude I just read your DIY Guide. By Gloss can you mean the one from VHT right? I think I already know what this means but can you clarify anyways what you meant by using gloss coat last 2 passes? Like you go colour can, gloss, wait to dry, colour can, gloss? If you want you can easily paint them yourself. Click the link in my sig for a nice how-to guide!
The gloss is the top coat. So two coats of the gloss.Hey dude I just read your DIY Guide. By Gloss can you mean the one from VHT right? You do two coats after the paint though right? The way he wrote it was the last 2 passes he used clear coat so I got confusedThe gloss is the top coat. So two coats of the gloss.

Please share the result.Got a quote for $250 from a reputable body shop near me (Dallas) to paint my brake calipers red...
That's way less than most quotes I've gotten. Some where over $1K, most were around $500-$600
The ones that’s $1K most likely included disassembling the parts, powder coating them and reassembling and putting it back on. $250 is probably to just paint it without disassembling it which after a year or two depending on the paint it starts chipping and such.Got a quote for $250 from a reputable body shop near me (Dallas) to paint my brake calipers red...
