I've had a couple cars vinyl wrapped and vinyl wrap definitely protects against rock chips, just not as well as PPF. I'd have no issue vinyl wrapping another one of my cars, but I'd only PPF an exotic car because of the value. Just my $0.02
The only way to fix a rock chip with vinyl or PPF is to remove the damaged section of material and re-install.
I was going matte for deep blue metalic but changed my mind. I think matte is great for black, white and brown. I saw a blue matte on the road. From my angle it looked pastel. After some research I learned different brands show differently. Xpel came out on the bottom because the color does not come through as good at all angles as other brands. So I'm going clear and will use SunTek.
this is an unpopular opinion, but matte reminds me of that "primer" look. gives me that "kid with a Civic in the early 90s grew up" vibe. Like kids that could afford a new bumper, but couldn't afford to paint it so it would be dull.
I get that it's much cheaper than a real, professional paint job, just not my style.
