I read here after the beta event that it was going to be a red colour ("red moir" or something) for non-signature holders, but the design studio was not yet updated. Has this changed since there is still not red colour for the standard Model S configuration in the design studio?
They'll likely withhold that color until the last minute, to drive more people to pick up Signatures. They still have some left, correct?
Signatures sold out back in January (Elon tweeted it) for North America at least. They're planning on adding the Muir Red to the regular production at some point but maybe not right at launch. I think they're looking to add a color a month to the production from what they were saying at the October event.
Muir Red to be available in 2013. Signature Series has a wait list for anyone who is hoping to get someone else's cancelled spot.
I believe the red for non-signature cars will be available sometime in 2013. If you go to the options and pricing page, you will see the colors that are available for non-signature cars and there is a red choice but it says 'Available in 2013'. It probably won't be the same shade of red as on the signature cars, but red will be available sometime for the non-sig cars.
Ok, thank you for the information. I have P205 so I will wait and see if the red option is available when I have to configure the car.
From the factory sample I saw at the Fremont event it appeared to me to be a solid color of red vs metallic or multi-coat paint of red.
My main problem is anyway that my wife don't like the red color. How do I fix that? Blue is so far the color we can agree on...
Blue it is then? I think the blue looks great. The Muir red is a much brighter red than the Signature red.
Yes, I think the blue also looks nice, also if the muir red is very bright. Blue paint with black nappa learther and piano black so far..
