Red UMC - How do I get one? (Mine's silver)

The UMC's were supposed to be color coded with the car but I think they nixed that idea.

I thought that was the case for the HPWC. I wasn't aware that was the case for the UMC.

Even so, clearly at least one of them exists (though maybe not UL certified). I fired off a mail to my Tesla contacts to give it a shot.

Thanks. Never noticed that. I knew they were thinking about that for the HPWC but not the UMC. Maybe it's a plate they can switch out later.

Hmm, mine is silver. It looks like they were just throwing in whatever they had on hand at the time. I would like the red but that's a minor thing. Silver looks fine.

In response to my e-mail:

Our earlier Model S Mobile Connectors had some different colors, but all the production versions of the cables have silver trim.

Bummer. Seems like an easy cash opportunity to offer different colors in the store.

I've been trying to figure out how to get one of the UMC wall holsters to hang my UMC plug when not charging. Looks like they come with the HPWC when it is ordered, but don't see it offered as a standalone accessory.

any garden hose holster should do.

I wrap mine around the wall outlet it is plugged into -- it sticks far enough out of the (outdoor) wall enough.
