Referral based on order or delivery?

Hey all,

I ordered my SR+ on May 1st (Midnight Silver, Aero Wheels, FSD. Purchased in Washington State) and am still waiting for a VIN and delivery date. I used a friend's referral code on this order.

Given that I don't have a VIN or delivery date yet, it seems likely I won't take delivery until after 5/28, which is when the referral bonus goes back to 1,000 miles of Supercharging.

If I end up taking delivery after 5/28, do people know if I'll get the 5,000 miles or 1,000 miles of Supercharging?

I think you still qualify for the bonus (must be ordered by may 28th) but the miles don't appear until you've taken delivery

It is based on the order date. But I wouldn’t count on Tesla getting it right so you will have to watch it closely to make sure you get the 5,000 miles.

We ordered our car on 5/14 using a 5k referral link. We took delivery over the weekend on 6/1. As of this morning I'm seeing 1k in super charging miles in my loot box. I reached out to my delivery specialist who said he's working on a solution with his manager and the referral team to see if they can get me the 5k miles. We'll see if they actually come through with them!

Also remember they have a 6 month validity, that part isn't 100% clear to everyone.

Also note that each additional referral extends the validity of remaining miles by an additional 6 months.

defintely order date. I was refused ANY SC miles b/c my order was during non referral period. Hope Tesla makes an exception

Not how it worked for me.

I ordered my P3D+ on April 19, with a 1,000 mile referral. I took delivery on May 2, and have 5,000 miles.

No question this is a poor way of doing things. Just so happened to work in my favor.

I hope that's what happens to me also. I'd be happy with any SC miles but my original order was 3/31/16, many modifications since then

I emailed my delivery specialist asking for the 5k given my order date. He was able to work with his manager and the referral team to get it changed. It just showed up yesterday evening.
