Haven't seen anyone in Canada mentioning yet, but are we allowed to post a referral link for the new program? If this is not cool, mods delete please! <SNIP> Also, not sure if anyone thought of this....Get the first 10 referrals in NA to get the free X, then raffle between the 11 people to see who keeps it, plus they all save $1,000 and the referrer gets $10,000 credit.
I've seen a few forum signatures with referral links since the announcement. I personally don't care who posts one in their signature. However, "gaming" the system was specifically called out by Musk in the announcement, so I'd try to avoid suggestions of that here on TMC, we need to "stay above the fray".
The referral program is for all Model S owners. If you haven't got the email yet, log into MyTesla and you'll see your customized link plus a link to the program details.
and I can confirm that they are sending out the email to Canadians as I just received mine about an hour ago.
Yeah I got mine, too. Too bad they didn't do it four years ago! For the record, we are NOT allowing referral links on TMC. Links in this thread have gone SNIP!
My apologies if I'm misunderstanding something here. So, a current Tesla owner can get some money for getting someone to use their link as a referral. If I am to spend so much money on a premium auto, giving a bonus to a perfect stranger doesn't sit well with me. Why not flip it around and give the bonus to the person buying the car if they were referred by a current Tesla owner? EDIT: I see now that the purchaser also gets the bonus. In that case, I would be inclined to try and get a link from Bjorn Nyland whom I've never met. His videos actually convinced me to get a Tesla.
I've watched all of Nylands videos. Tesla should just give him an X so he can review it for a year.... that guy is awesome..
I bought my car in France, and I did not get the e-mail and there is nothing in My Tesla. Maybe they send the links out gradually?
It can't be the lack of a French version of the message, since they provided that with the email to Canadians. (But that might have delayed receipt compared to USians).
Did you check your spam filter? Also: mass emails sometimes take time. I can't imagine that they would not send an email to anyone whose (correct) address they have on file.
Have any of you tried the link? Mine just goes to a semi-empty page. Just the tesla headers on the site and empty main section.
Just tested a few hours ago and I have the link on My Tesla page (however never received the mail of been deleted by my SPAM filter).
