Refresh Footwell Lights

I can't seem to find or see any foot welllights in my recently manufactured and delivered Plaid. I mentioned this to a local service manager. He checked two Plaids on the premises, neither having any footwell lighting.

Is this a recent change or are they all this way?

My 2020 looks like it does not have foot well lights with the black carpet, but if I put my hand under the dash, there is a light. It just doesn't do very much.

I checked closer and I do see a strip of LEDs but they are so dim that even placing my hand directly underneath the light was not reflecting off my hand. There must be a fault somewhere or a problem with the LEDs themselves. Anyone else?

They are super dim for me as well in my 22 LR. I think it was a single led powering a tube to disperse the light and it was super weak.

Some owners reported the dash bottom line hole for the led strip not lining up and causing lighting issues but overall it just sucks.

Have you also noticed that your deep center console light only turns on when the lid is halfway open or closed. You're welcome.

My deep center console light seems to be working fine.
Cannot figure out why the foot well lights are not. They do not seem to be shielded and aligned properly in the cut out. They are so dull it's hard to tell they are lights!

There definitely seems to be issues. My passenger side is super faint and / or non-existent. My drivers side works well. See a post here comparing them and refer to the quoted post to see another users footwell lights.

As far as retrofits go, I care more about the headlights. In my driving I haven't cursed the headlights. I have cursed trying to unsuccessfully find the horn button.

If they are not lighting up the footwell, I would say it is an issue.

This is a cheap, easy and tacky fix for the footwell issue.
Sad to need this for a now 100k+ car, but it works.

Disregard the fix. It only adhered to the mount for a week and then fell off. Too bad.

Keep pushing them. I have had three appointments about it. Use my photos and @impastu as evidence of how it SHOULD look.

These will not work for the refresh foot well lights. Stock lights are very long and quite skinny
