Hey guys, I have ordered my 2021 model 3 performance on 10/21 and it shows estimated delivery between nov 25 - dec 23.
I do have a question about the 2021 performance edition tires. does anyone know if ordered on the east coast or out of California you will get all season 20" tires or are they all the same summer tires? I have been trying to get this info from my sales specialist at tesla and i can only get tire size from him. I plan on ordering snow tires for the car and possible the 19" or 20" rim and snow tire combo but my fear is picking up the car in NY which is my local tesla sales location and possibly driving it home 80+ miles in the snow or ice on summer tires.
I live in CT and my state does not allow tesla sales so NY pickup is the closest for me. My sales guy says I can order and have the snows installed after I get the car. ugh ..

I can open a separate topic on this but the people here like me have ordered the new m3p so i guess I am looking for any clues you guys have gotten who don't live in the sunny and warm locations. Thanks !

Piggy backing to add a similar question- do any 18” Aero wheels fit on the Performance? I want the option to swap out for long road trips to Tahoe to maximize range and have a bigger sidewall. Also wondering if chains are possible with the lowered suspension.

The performance model only come with Summer tires. Believe me I've tried to otherwise get different tires. Specifically nowadays they are Pirellis P Zeroes. I have confirmed with online chat and my sales advisor that they once again, like the predecessor of the Michelin tires on the 2018-2020 P3Ds, are summer-only.

The original 18 inch aero wheels from Tesla do not fit on the Performance Model 3. They once upon a time did sell P3Ds without the performance upgrade (called the stealth performance). Those came with the 18 inch aero wheels. If you want, there are aftermarket 18 inch wheels that have been made to fit onto the Model 3 Performance. A couple examples are from TSportline and Martian Wheels. You could then get the same tires MXM4 on them and recoup most of the range difference. Just make sure you see that they specifically fit the Performance Trim.

Thanks for the link. Good information, I was just hoping there was a Gemini/Aero option for even more aerodynamic efficiency. Maybe the 19” Model Y Geminis could fit but the advantages of the higher sidewall on 18” wheels would probably outweigh any advantages that would have.

There is M3 19" Geminis with aero cover in winter tires.
