Including the passenger?
You wouldn't want the passenger door to open as you approach. Would be a recipe for disaster.

Here are the ways you can open the front door(s):
-Press on the button
-Use the keyfob (double tap once to open the drivers door, double tap again to open passenger door)
-Drivers door will auto-present when you approach - this can be finicky after a while. Seems like this is supported on phone key as well for refresh.
-Use touchscreen once already inside the vehicle

I don't think anything with the refresh would/should change how this works. The brake pedal to close also only closes the driver door - and it is AMAZING. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to give up the keyfob in the case I want to do things like open the passenger door, pop open specific FWDs, or close all the doors at once. I guess phone key might be convenient if it is JUST me driving.

thats the first result if you google it. Whether it‘s nine years old or not is irrelevant. At least I think you now learn what the real adaptive light is, and it‘s better than your BMW In US.
I can’t believe someone is saying this. When talking about technology, the age of a post is definitely relevant. I don’t care what comes up in your Google search, BMW 100% has adaptive lights on par with what Tesla is trying to do.

Last Sunday I got "the call" about upgrading my 5 seat Plaid to a 6 seat (which I did and got a new sales agreement with the changed info). Today I got another call, from Greg in Fremont, to "confirm my configuration details, registration details, etc" and to give me his contact info as my delivery specialist (I'm doing factory delivery even though I live in Los Angeles). He wouldn't confirm any more delivery information, nor would he commit to any guarantee on the delivery date, but said that they are now calling people to confirm all of the details in preparation for final delivery. Has anyone else received this second confirmation call?
This is really exciting since you seem to be the only one on here with a Plaid on order that got the call. I’m also super excited for some news/movement on the Plaids.

I have a pre refresh reservation and can't put in payment options.. is this the same for other folks? If I change my configuration I get the new pricing :( so I don't want that. I've reached out to my SA but getting crickets..
Sorry, replying to my own question. This thread is active!
Anyone else have an early RN that still shows the pre-refresh MX?

Seeing no EDD or VIN movement is discouraging 😒. I’d atleast be happy when tons of people start getting vins even if I don’t. Atleast means the process is going faster. 6 known deliveries so far ⏳
There is definitely activity based on all of us who have received The Call. I declined the offer today.

We’re not even close to the two year wait I had for my 3. Or the 3 years from the time we placed the $5k deposit in 2014 for the X and the 2017 actual trigger pulling.

That’s why we’re chill. It’s all good. We’ll get it when we get it.

So I decided to call the 800 number today to see if I could find out anything new. The woman I spoke with was very nice, but didn’t have much information. However, when she got back from seeing if she could find any info for me, she said she saw that one of the Fremont sales advisors was supposed to call me soon and she sent him a message that I was on the phone and that I should expect a call in the next 10-20 minutes.
I figured this would be the call asking me if i wanted to switch from 5 seat to 6, and sure enough, it was. I made the switch because I’m just sick of waiting. I’m kind of pissed that I need to spend an extra $6500k to get a car that otherwise would take over a year from the date I ordered to have delivered (I ordered the day it was announced). The guy said he couldn’t tell me when the 6 seat or 5 seat would be delivered, but said the 6 seat would definitely be November or December, and 5 seat would definitely be early 2022. He also said that “early 2022” could be anything from January to April.
Interestingly, I asked him if making any other change to the car would incur the additional $10000 charge. He said that you can’t make changes to the car, but if I wanted to change anything, he would do it right then for me without the fee.
He also mentioned that while he doesn’t know of anything other than 6 seaters being delivered, he does have customers with 7 seat builds scheduled to get their X’s this year, although none have VINs or assigned dates. He seemed pretty sure that no 5 seaters were being delivered this year.
Is this all just a scam to get an extra $6500 from customers who should have already had their vehicles delivered? Probably. Does it piss me off? Yup. But, I’m sick of waiting and when the car does finally show up, I’m pretty sure I’ll love it, no matter how pissed I am at Tesla. And I guess that’s why they keep getting away with this sh¡t…

I think the refresh passenger door open too, however i do not think it will be a disaster as it will open for the person carrying the key!

Not true at all. My BMW would follow the road curves and everything that is described in the adaptive headlights section.
There is an important distinction here that we need to make because we're kind of chasing our tales in discussion. "Adaptive" just means that the headlights adapt. Yes, that is true. Tesla has Adaptive Lights. My 2016 MX automatically adjusted the high beams on and off depending on whether or not there was a car in front of me. When I turn on my blinker, an additional light turned on in that direction. Even when I turn the wheel, the added lights turned on.

That is not the same as ADB technology or Adaptive Driving Beam. These are precise beams of light that can be as bright as high beams, and directed at everything other than other cars. Tesla demonstrated this at Gigafest Berlin. That technology is not legal in the us. Here is an interesting write up about it (including a link to 1967s Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108 - the law blocking the use of this new tech.)

Hope this helps.

I live in Massachusetts and I just got the call from Tesla asking if I want to switch from a 5 seat configuration to a 6 seat. I told the person that I would love to as long as it doesn’t cost me a penny more. To which he explained there would be an up charge if I agreed to the change. I told him that I could barely afford the extra $8000 I’m getting smacked with since I ordered back in 2020. And then went on to ask him why no one at Tesla has bothered to call me or write regarding my order since January of 2021. I told him I got a loan, I arranged insurance, I bought and installed a wall connector all in anticipation of a March delivery that never happened. I explain to him that I find it odd that the one and only communication from Tesla to me since I agreed to the price increase for the new refresh Model X is in October to change my configuration to accommodate Tesla’s needs. I told him that it’s unconscionable that no one in Tesla leadership ( nor Elon , but a VP, Director, Manager) has bothered to send an email or a phone call explaining why the March delivery was missed, The issues that arose due to the chip shortage and a clear defined date for delivery of my order. I told him my service advisor is a nice guy but he knows nothing because corporate tells him nothing. And spending $87,000 on a car one would expect a higher level of customer service. I assume tesla still wants my money. If they don’t want my money let me know because I could save a lot of money buying a different brand.
he was a very nice guy and listen to my rant and apologized. He stated that he was an economics major in college and completely understands my frustration and concerns. He was going to contact customer loyalty to have someone reach out to me and discuss where I am in the queue and my concerns about my order. Like I said he’s a very nice guy, but I’m not gonna hold my breath.
Fair critique. Tesla is a enviable position in terms of demand vs supply. They are also overwhelmed by this situation. Elon focuses the resources on engineering, innovation and production. Customer service is never a big thing for Tesla. I suppose if you build a great car that people love, it takes care of itself most of the time.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I never imagined that I'd ever have the $ for an X in my life. My first X was so fun, so cool that I signed up for a second. Maybe I'm a dumb Elon, Tesla fan boy but I'm chill with getting my X when I get it. I ordered on Jan 15, 2021, Blue/White, LR, 6, FSD. When this order slipped from April 2021 to whenever, I extended the lease on my current X and I'm still driving that. When I spoke to Tesla about extending the lease again, they told me that X production had begun and that I would be high up on the delivery schedule. No calls yet. No emails yet. No new EDD yet and no VIN yet. But it's still chill. Looking forward to my first yolk car and messing with FSD for real. Also thinking that the new X is going to better from all the lessons they've learned from building so many cars now. When I bought my first X, April 2017, Tesla just made S/X. Tiny miniscule production. They are now making hundreds of thousands of cars. I still remember the day I went to pick up my car and the girl assigned to show me the car, said "welcome to the family." I know dumb that I took it sincerely but that's how its been. This will be the third Tesla in our family when it's delivered. Amen. The one I'm really really waiting for is my CT. Driving that is going to be a moment!!

You are wrong. Better learn what is the real “ adaptive light” is first. Swirling with steering wheel is not.
I believe you are mixing things up. The video you have posted is showing two different features, the Adaptive headlights and Auto High beam Assist (sometimes referred to as Adaptive Highbeam).
Of course these are not standard keywords, but usually, the adaptive headlight doesn't have anything to do with the high beams. It only changes of direction of low beams (+ sometimes also used the front fog lights) AND BTW they are "traffic independent" and much less advanced than the auto high beam.

From what I am hearing, the High beam Assist appears to have legal complications in the US, and perhaps that is why Tesla's auto high beam is a joke compared to tech used in Audi Matrix lights and BMW laser ones. The adaptive headlights however, shouldn't be a problem, which BTW seems is already in place for 2021 M3 and MY?
