5 seconds? Hell no. I can't have anything slower than what I have now (4.2s @ 353kw(~458HP)). Its like buying a house -- I can't downsize. I wouldn't mind the rest.
The reality is that the pricing is reflective of the actual cost to Tesla (plus a margin).

Electric cars are not at price parity with gas cars. Coincidentally, they happen to be far superior, thus justifying the premium price.

Obviously the hope is to make them price competitive (4680s, full body casting, etc etc)

It this point, its hard to get excited about anything Tesla says. I'm happy for everyone getting their vins and taking delivery, but I feel like at this point my ability to ever take ownership of a car in a timeframe I find acceptable is unrelated to any plaids or 6 seaters being delivered. Any new tech being offered in cars is irrelevant, because I don't see them delivering my car (5 seater LR) within a timeframe I am going to find acceptable.

Most importantly, Tesla has not fixed their basic problem of lying to customers and withholding information (or failing to put any effort into obtaining and organize information they could clearly get). The silence from Tesla regarding any sort of meaningful status on 5 and 7 seater deliveries is telling, especially given the past year plus. I would love to meet Elon and simply ask him why he thinks any of this is acceptable, and how long should one be expected to wait on an initial 2-3 month promised delivery.

Let my wife drive the Taycan Turbo S yesterday for the first time, in case she ever needed to know how to use it. Her first time driving an electric car, and as we tend to keep our cars 7 years, she was blown by the technology and power. She got all exciting wondering when her X is coming so she could drive it. At which point we had a pretty sincere heart to heart on how much more abuse we put up with from Tesla.

We're waiting for their next screw up, and I suspect that will be our final straw.

I would seriously love to see Tesla publicly commit to 5/7 LR production and provide any sort of timeframe. Thats not who they are and it will never happen. Pathetic.

All cars come with Tesla Vision, it is not optional. I've been very impressed with how well Vision actually works. Radar has no way to detect non-vehicluar objects. Things like pedestrians, bicycles, anything plastic are completely invisible to radar.

Transitioning to Tesla Vision

And everyone in Europe, we're still here.

I reverted back to lurking, but am popping up to give a sense of the situation here. I ordered in February 2021, and know of three more orders in my neighbourhood. We all got the 'somewhere in the second half of 2022', but we've also had SAs tell us that it might just as well be 2023 of cancelled. Nobody knows what to expect at this point.
Is your SA speculating on the cancelled part ? I heard something similar but assume SAs as clueless as us. At least seeing the Norway tests, CCS port models is still keeping my belief intact that we will see them this year 🤞

With Model Y production moving to Austin, does that free up a production line to produce our 5 & 7 seat MX? As mentioned somewhere earlier, production for all of 2022 is spoken for. Just thinkin' out loud.....

Pre-refresh order 11/2020 MSM 5 seat 20" Cream. RN114231xxx.
Model Y production is not moving to Austin - Y will be produced at both Austin and Fremont. Tesla is not planning to open a second line of S/X.

Called Tesla and they confirmed that my VIN is a 2022 build and it was begun on Feb 17, 2022 so it's going to be Tesla Vision only, no radar.

Since I ordered all the way back in Jan 2021, I have a very low price for my MX LR w/FSD at about $115k.

Since then I changed my mind and decided I want a Plaid. So I ordered a second MX Plaid this time. October delivery date rn.

My plan is to sell the MX LR when the MX Plaid is ready.

Comments, thoughts from anyone else thinking to do this.

Idk what bug got into me but I ACTUALLY called that number.

I guess seeing all these VINs flying right and left I am finally getting slightly ancy (ordered Mar 2021).

So ancy that I actually called, knowing it’s pointless. I waited on hold for about a minute and then hung up. They have better things to do than to talk to me. 😆
Edit: clarification: it’s not a matter of me being worthy. It’s that literally the poor folks have NOTHING to offer.

How do Indiana's highways compare to California's or other more congested states' highways? Overpasses on top of overpasses? Never gone 65 to 45 in a split-second because of a tree's shadow or overpass?

We do have more plastic people per capita here, so maybe it'll save lives.

LED matrix headlights...just thinking out loud:
The MX is deleting radar and going pure vision. That could push the X to get the new headlights sooner rather than later. The logic is the same as the high beams being automatically set to 'on' for FSD beta which enhances the vehicles vision.
Time will tell.
