Received a VIN on 4/30, with a new EDD of May 15th to 19th. Yesterday, it changed to May 11th to 17th. Today, I received a text to schedule a “Tentative” appointment with the earliest being the 23rd. Bummer. I’ve bought 5 Teslas and never had that happen. Chance of getting it sooner? I’m too excited!

JUST GOT MINE FOR 5/22 IN ORLANDO

Well, I thought people were exaggerating when they described a hellish delivery process of canceled delivery dates and rude customer service, but now that I am experiencing it, I understand. This is my third delivery of a Tesla and the other two deliveries were not perfect, but acceptable good. This one just plain stinks. There is no designated delivery specialist, my delivery date has been canceled and rescheduled 4 times in one week, three different people have asked for photos of my trade-in, and none of them talk to each other or reply to emails or texts. I receive Robo texts every other day with inaccurate information and I was told by one guy to "just ignore the Robo notifications, they are always wrong". There is no way to contact the service center where my car will be supposedly delivered, all calls are re-routed to a customer service team in Atlanta... I think. The one guy that has actually called me is rude and argues with me and acts like this whole dysfunctional process is somehow my fault. They have turned what should be an exciting process of receiving a new car into a miserable and frustrating experience.

Try turning Sentry off completely. If GPS drifts it may not think you are home.

I lose 1-2 miles a day on my S since I got it in March. Sentry Off. Same with the X before it. Same with the 3 before that. So I don’t know about any new App feature making it better or worse.
Tesla needs to use ultra-low-power-consumption cameras. There are even prototype cameras that are powered by the ambient light. Btw there are also novel imaging technologies that allow for something to the effect of photon vergence mapping.

Google this stuff, Tesla engineers. The power sucking relatively low-res autopilot cameras are not energy-usage optimal! 🥂

Sentry mode should NOT significantly ding the range. /rant.

Just picked up 339639. No swivel screen. FYI

But everything else is pretty good. Delivery person said they won’t release any Model X without thorough inspection. She said I have 24 hours to report any issues and open a service request. Do you guys see any panel misalignments?
Looks sweet!
That being said, and not to be “that guy,” but the door handle alignment is jarring to me.

1 - Turn off auto summon that drains battery because it’s always waiting for summon command

2 - automatic doors wastes battery because it’s always sensing if you walk up to the car

3 - and lastly……new Tesla owner syndrome (this one happened to me) as a first time Tesla owner you are constantly tinkering and checking the app which wakes up the car….. I thought there was something wrong with my car but once I stopped opening the app so much I now only lose like maybe 1 mile overnight…. If that.

What more important item is to make sure that the keys are not in range of the vehicle as this will cause additional drain.

Just visited local Tesla store here in scottsdale AZ and I was told that I have been soft matched to a car going into production. It is scheduled for a tentative delivery of 06/17. It's a white 7 seater with black interior. Order date Apr 2021. Will this hold?
Dude no one knows. Just be happy that you're probably getting a fresh one.

For those of you who wonder whether Plaid order gets priority and if so, by how much, I did a Bayesian modeling with MCMC (Markov chain Monte Carlo) by using the data in the tracking spreadsheet. The report is attached. It's actually an open-end project required by my class, for which I selected modeling the delivery time for the refreshed Model X, since I'm a long-time diver in this forum. I did this project in a rush so please forgive me if you found errors or limitations. I know there must be a lot of them, plus the bias of the data itself.

Anyway, the conclusion is that Plaid order does get delivery earlier, as expected, but only by an average of 54 days, comparing to Long Range orders. The mean implied from the MCMC is 456 days (Long Range) vs 402 days (Plaid). However, as folks already mentioned earlier, the number of days saving is in a wide range.

I also did the same thing for FSD vs non-FSD orders, which I didn't put in the report. And the result, may be to some's surprise, is that no statistically difference is observed between FSD and non-FSD orders. So seems like adding FSD does not really help in getting the car earlier.

Hope this information is helpful for folks who are considering switching to Plaid or adding FSD in order to get the car sooner. The cutoff time of the information used from the spreadsheet is 4/22. Any newer information is not taken into consideration (I waited to get my project graded before posting it here). As Tesla ramps up the production, I would imagine the actual average delivery time should be less than the modeling results.

I'm more than happy to hear comments and suggestions, particularly for the modeling techniques, as I know it's a rather simple modeling application.
Thank you for your analysis, time and work. I appreciate it.

The data on the spreadsheet are not the total Tesla data of orders nor have the data undergone randomization. The outcome of your analysis could be right however it does not represent true sampling. The possibility of your conclusion that is not due to chance is high. In other words, you did a great job it is just limited by the quality of data.

I don’t have auto summon, so that #1 is not an issue. I like #2 anyway so will keep it. For #3, does having the Tesla widget make it seem like you have opened the app? I have the iPhone widget to get quick access to the 4 commands they show.
For now I have turned off Sentry mode so let’s see.

I feel your pain, I'm going through the same thing.. let's just say the delivery process is not a well-oiled machine.
