VINNER! 7SAXCDE54NF3419XX. Based on other VINs is this a fairly recent build date? (Looks like a bit older than some but still hoping for late ish april based on being almost to 342)

Delivery timeframe tightened to 5/26-5/30, previously was 5/21-6/5.

I know I’m super lucky as they seem to be building lots of 5 seaters still and shipping a truck to Charlotte. Hopefully my fellow Charlotte delivery center folks will get lucky as well!

I don’t have auto summon, so that #1 is not an issue. I like #2 anyway so will keep it. For #3, does having the Tesla widget make it seem like you have opened the app? I have the iPhone widget to get quick access to the 4 commands they show.
For now I have turned off Sentry mode so let’s see.
If you’re on iPhone the widget doesn’t matter as it’s not live and will only activate the app if you tap on it to interact with any of the functions. Notice that it actually has to open the app and does not actually complete the function from the widget itself…. So widget is of no concern….. if you are on Android then I have no idea sorry

For those of you who wonder whether Plaid order gets priority and if so, by how much, I did a Bayesian modeling with MCMC (Markov chain Monte Carlo) by using the data in the tracking spreadsheet. The report is attached. It's actually an open-end project required by my class, for which I selected modeling the delivery time for the refreshed Model X, since I'm a long-time diver in this forum. I did this project in a rush so please forgive me if you found errors or limitations. I know there must be a lot of them, plus the bias of the data itself.

Anyway, the conclusion is that Plaid order does get delivery earlier, as expected, but only by an average of 54 days, comparing to Long Range orders. The mean implied from the MCMC is 456 days (Long Range) vs 402 days (Plaid). However, as folks already mentioned earlier, the number of days saving is in a wide range.

I also did the same thing for FSD vs non-FSD orders, which I didn't put in the report. And the result, may be to some's surprise, is that no statistically difference is observed between FSD and non-FSD orders. So seems like adding FSD does not really help in getting the car earlier.

Hope this information is helpful for folks who are considering switching to Plaid or adding FSD in order to get the car sooner. The cutoff time of the information used from the spreadsheet is 4/22. Any newer information is not taken into consideration (I waited to get my project graded before posting it here). As Tesla ramps up the production, I would imagine the actual average delivery time should be less than the modeling results.

I'm more than happy to hear comments and suggestions, particularly for the modeling techniques, as I know it's a rather simple modeling application.

You might be May built, mine built 4/25 and vin3412xx.

Of those who have taken delivery I have a question about voice commands and in particular trying to make an outgoing call.

In my Ford Explorer I would simply hit the speech button then say “Call” then say the person‘s name and I’d say “on cell” or “on home”. And it would dial the correct phone number. In my Tesla I hit the speech button and I say dial this person‘s name on mobile it gives me a list of the two available phone numbers, home or mobil, on the screen and then I have to look at the screen and select which one I want. It doesn’t seem to be able to delineate that I want this person to be contacted on this phone line be that mobile or home. Am I the only one with this challenge?

Probably because the ford is triggering your phone's voice assistant, and Tesla is not.

Well, I thought people were exaggerating when they described a hellish delivery process of canceled delivery dates and rude customer service, but now that I am experiencing it, I understand. This is my third delivery of a Tesla and the other two deliveries were not perfect, but acceptable good. This one just plain stinks. There is no designated delivery specialist, my delivery date has been canceled and rescheduled 4 times in one week, three different people have asked for photos of my trade-in, and none of them talk to each other or reply to emails or texts. I receive Robo texts every other day with inaccurate information and I was told by one guy to "just ignore the Robo notifications, they are always wrong". There is no way to contact the service center where my car will be supposedly delivered, all calls are re-routed to a customer service team in Atlanta... I think. The one guy that has actually called me is rude and argues with me and acts like this whole dysfunctional process is somehow my fault. They have turned what should be an exciting process of receiving a new car into a miserable and frustrating experience.
I’m sorry to hear of your experience. 😢
I trust Tesla will make it right for you at least with your vehicle, and I anticipate better vehicle delivery logistics design in the future!

Everybody who has a bad experience should give as constructive of feedback as possible. It will make a difference.

I don't think it's inflation since I just found another installer who quoted me $5,000 instead of $9,000. Sometimes inflation is used as an excuse for extortion. We need to go no further than oil companies and their record profits for evidence of that :)
Installers get away with charging that because the owners pay for it.

Per my previous post, you can easily get better for less.

Full PPF Suntek in LA with ceramic is about 5-6k and I think LA is high...

1 - Turn off auto summon that drains battery because it’s always waiting for summon command

2 - automatic doors wastes battery because it’s always sensing if you walk up to the car

3 - and lastly……new Tesla owner syndrome (this one happened to me) as a first time Tesla owner you are constantly tinkering and checking the app which wakes up the car….. I thought there was something wrong with my car but once I stopped opening the app so much I now only lose like maybe 1 mile overnight…. If that.
Automatic door presentation does not add an additional watt of usage. It uses the same Bluetooth triangulation to unlock the car as it does to open the door. That’s on either way. It’s just what actions it takes with your proximity that’s different.

Just took delivery of my replacement Plaid after the original one spent almost three months in the service center waiting for a replacement windshield (there are none). Was told (in writing) that it would have the matrix lights and refreshed tail lights. Has neither. Less than three minutes on the first drive and the windshield is cracked again. Key fob delivered dead, license plate frame bent, radio only plays treble out of two speakers, the rest play nothing (balance and all eq settings have been reset to factory default). lf they can't even inspect the key and the radio to be working at the time of delivery it makes one wonder what else they simply ignored as well. Now knowing that there are no windshields available I am really discouraged about this whole process. I am going to ask for a refund. This has been without question the most frustrating and substandard car buying experience of the past 30 years.
