In regards to oil companies: They are not extorting anyone...

Remind us again what business you are in? I am sure your organization has passed on stock options, personal pay raises, opportunities to increase the price of products... All in the name of being a nice organization, making sure to avoid even the appearance of "extortion"...

I am not saying oil companies are extra "nice", but they are companies made up of humans like you and me and are no different than Tesla, Facebook or AT&T. All trying to make a profit and a living for employees while delivering products and services that we all like / want....
Well, the business I am in is a public school teacher, so no stock options here. We just try to do the best we can with what little we are given to work with.

Stopped by my Tesla Center tonight and found my car. It's dirty and still has shipping tape on various places. Snapped a few pics. I didn't examine it closely but the things that mattered to me seem fine - FWDs handles line up, interior looks good. No glaring issues to my untrained eye.

I'll post more pics once it's delivered.

Edit: additional info - 3 new MXs were there. A black/white plaid - and a blue (didn't notice if plaid or seat color)
Some reason that black interior makes my heart sing. Glad I switched. Gorgeous car. Just Gorgeous.

thanks, did you make your changes? if so, is the info correct? did your original order date change? the "boss" is fine with changing our order to 6 seats like i originally wanted. i might be able to convince the plaid upgrade too. though it looks like august-october for plaid orders so still not too bad of extra wait if we go plaid. but just in case i can't get her to sign off on the plaid, i don't want my EDD to be pushed to next year.
Im wondering what the price will be if i update to Plaid... currently have a LR/6 config...

You in central Indy?

The white plaid should be mine! Happen to grab any pictures? 😂
I am in Central Indy - I wasn't clear I guess in my edit - I meant to say I saw 3 new Model Xs (1 was mine) - mine, a black/black seats plaid - #2 a blue/didn't notice seat color - and a black/white seats plaid.

They weren't all together - spaced out in the same row. I could have missed some in my excitement :)

Will probably go back tomorrow for better pics. Will be on the lookout for a white plaid.

Based on my experience trying to get the pre-price increase the next day and postings on this and other threads, brace yourself for a price increase BUT you never really know until you ask. You might get a sympathetic ear that knows how to work a loophole to get you the price in effect at the time of your order. Try it, all you have to lose is a phone call and/or visit to your Service Center😇
(…and given the current economics, I would make a decision sooner rather than later because the prices will only go up!)

The main common thread is 7 seaters + international orders, but there are some random poor souls who don't fit that and still don't have their X.
We are at day 498 for our US 6 seat white/white Model X order.

We did take delivery of a 2021 Plaid and a 2022 Model S last year, so maybe that put us at a lower priority for delivery of our Model X.

if you have "edit design" link in your acct, you can see the price it will change to. my original order date was september 13, 2021. long range at that time was for $99,990. i changed my 7 seats to 6 and according to my order, the base price hasn't changed but my original order date did to when i made the changes. though my EDD hasn't changed (for now).

but in the screenshot, the plaid price is at the price of my original order from september 2021. if you have "edit design" link you can see. but don't apply the changes unless you're sure.

The original order date will still show on your final MVPA confirmed by a previous person who did the switch to 6 seater and picked up their X. That’s also why when you make a change, your EDD doesn’t start you at the back of the line.

Okay. A couple of shots of my LR X, picked up Saturday.
Delivery Experience:
1. Delivery was smooth. I had 2 delivery specialists working with me. They spent all the time we wanted and helped us set up the key cards and so forth. Had some trouble getting one of the fobs to connect, still working on that.
2. The only flaw we spotted was a scuff on the dash near the front window. It's installed properly, but the surface is scuffed as if a robot grabbed it a little too tight or it was slightly damaged sitting in a pile with other dashboard tops.
3. Paperwork was smooth and easy. we were literally done in under 10 minutes.

Overall Impressions:
1. This is my 2nd X. My first was also a LR, same color, same 5 seat configuration. This car looks better, sportier. I'm not quite sure what Tesla did styling wise, I think the front half is more bullet shaped, they cut back on the front end, making it more aerodynamic, slight, but the car just looks faster. What's more IT IS FASTER. Dang this thing is quick.
2. The seats look different because of the perforations to allow cooling. It's nice and the cooling works, an important consideration for Georgia in the summertime.
3. The X handles terrific. During my first drive home, I literally accelerate beyond the speed I intended because it is so smooth. I put it on Sport steering and it's very responsive
4. It took a little bit to get used to the yoke steering wheel. When you make a sharp turn, it's easy to let a thumb drift over and activate a turn signal or the windshield wiper. After a few days, I'm not doing that as much and am starting to really like the yoke. When you're driving steady like on a freeway, it's easy to position the yoke so that one elbow can rest on the door armrest and the other on the padded part of the console making it less tiring when you're going a longer distance.
5. SOFTWARE. Software, to me, is all about being logical in menu layers. You don't want to have to remember where a function/feature is. Apple excels at this, Microsoft doesn't. Where Microsoft products are feature rich, finding what you want to do (i.e. editing a photo in a MS Word doc) isn't always where you'd expect it to be. Apple is the exact opposite. I'd put the software for the X somewhere between Microsoft and Apple in this respect, closer to Apple's philosophy than Microsoft's if you're looking at it on a continuum line. Overall, the Refreshed MX is MUCH more customizable for what you want, IMO, than the earlier version. You can literally customize how you want the car to perform based on your likes and dislikes. This complicates the layers to get to choices more than earlier X versions, but I'm getting the hang of it.
6. Handling and speed. It's quicker, it handles much better. That's all you need to know.
7. Cabin noise. Much improved. This X seems to be much quieter than my old one. Tesla's done a good job here.
8. Stereo system. I loved the audio setup in my old X. This one is better. Wish it had Apple Play, hope they'll add Dolby Atmos at some point, even so it's really, really good.
9. Complaints. Nothing serious. You really have to be a nitpicker to come up with dislikes.
10. Biggest improvement: The console is much improved in design. I wasn't knocked out by the layout in my original X, the new one is much better. One word of warning: Be careful about laying a driver's license, credit card on the front part of the console as you rearrange your wallet to put your key card somewhere, it can slip forward and fall into an area where there is no retrieving it. Yes, I did that.
11. I've seen a few comments that the old style Tesla home wall mounts don't work with the new X. I have a 1st generation one, purchased in 2017, with the thick charging cord. No problems, zip. It works fine, charges at the same pace as my old 90D did. No complaints.

Knowing what I know now after playing with my new X a few days, would I buy it again? Hell yes I would. This is a fantastic vehicle.

I know that feeling exactly!

I'd drive by myself but my work schedule has been crazy and both kiddos are sick. Ha.

When are you scheduled for pickup/delivery?
