When I get a text from Tesla regarding my new VIN assignment, I plan to text back “what was the build date?” and “where is the car now?”.

Right now I’m missing the MVPA document and the estimated delivery date range is a 9 days which is a bit wide. So I expect some updates before the local delivery people contact me.

Was the ambient light ever confirmed or stated?
My MX Plaid (337 SN) running 12.3.3 has ambient lighting. In the front door (lower) pockets and under the rear screen. The Ambient is a dimmer version of the lights that come on when you are entering or exiting the car. I took a terrible video in my garage of the front door ambient.

The wiring is there to add the light bar behind each carbon fiber strip on the doors and the full length of the dash but only early cars had the actual light bars. It was pretty cool but added complexity. Great opportunity for the aftermarket though.

finally got a few proper pix of wifey's car following XPEL stealth, ceramic coating, tint all around, painted calipers, and some CF and vinyl accents ( had to have my MYP in the pic so she don't feel neglected 🥶 ) ***yes the garage is small

I'm picking up my LR X tonight but swung by the SC in Chicago yesterday to take a peek at my car a day early. I asked about the swivel screen and my SA (who's the SC manager, always admits when he doesn't know something to be definitive) told me the tilt screen in the X began production on April 22nd. Fortunately my car was made 5/2 so it will be included. But for what it's worth, 4/22 was the day they started swivel screens.
Thanks for the info, taking delivery this Sunday.

For going to a ski area you might get horrible range going up that mountain but coming down you could go 50 miles and not lose any charge.
When going to a ski area, the 'getting there' part is where the glee/nervous anticipation comes in. Ever notice speeding reckless cars with ski racks heading towards a resort? They are excited to get there as fast as possible, so why get in the way with a 300 range turned into an actual 170 by the conditions? Coming back is un-memorable and a bit on the dreary side but the regen is helpful if you do ever think about it.

This is so true. In all of my many trips to Tahoe (from San Jose) I counted at least 1 car in a ditch or down the mountain side virtually every time. Once right in front of the ski resort itself.

Got an update from my delivery specialist today on my 339xxx VIN. It's still stuck at Fremont (since early April), apparently waiting to get its lift gate fixed. It's unclear if it's waiting on a part, or time at the body shop. DS said that he'd expect that I'd get it at least before end of quarter (end of June). Said that if he tried to get me a new VIN that I'd almost certainly get automatically canceled.

Goes without saying, but this whole situation is extremely disappointing. My pricing is great ($107k), so I don't really have much choice here but to wait it out. And then once the car finally arrives, it sounds like I don't have much recourse at all if it's a bad build.

Hoping for the best, but man... not enjoying my first Tesla buying experience whatsoever.

My EDD updated today to 5/30-6/3. Hope this isn’t the start of the bump cycle.
6/3-6/7 delivery timeframe now. Continues to slip back a few days every few days .

Hope not too. Interesting, I was given a 9 day EDD window 5/29-6/6 when I got my VIN yesterday, whereas most folks seem to get a 5 day inclusive window. So I’m not sure if mine will narrow further.

Knock on wood - just getting the car shipped out of CA seems to be a major challenge. And then there is trucking it to the delivery center. Maybe that’s why they gave me a wider delivery window. Fingers crossed but there is still a month left in the quarter to absorb shipping delays. I think I lost my VIN last time because the delivery date was too close to the end of the March quarter and they had shipping snafus.

Just noticed your signature date counter. Technically from when we paid the $100, we're sitting at 566 days including today. Hoping this is the final stretch.

Called and talked to them a bit ago - the guy at tesla said the car is in motion on the train and he can see it’s almost halfway to Charlotte and still shows arriving there 5/26. He thinks the EDD I’m being given is likely an over estimate and I’ll get it sooner.

Picked up the new LR today, see details below. It has the swivel screen, very clean overall build, FWD operate well, no panel gaps, one small cosmetic detail on the trim piece below the wireless charging, the lettering is damaged and not readable, once it lights up it is fine, scheduled a service appt for that. Very nice upgrade to my 2019 Raven Performance model, interior is a major improvement, very glad to have cooled seats here in the sunny south. The power is exceptional for the LR version. The sound is a nice improvement as well, the subwoofer is just enough to make a big difference. Delivery center personnel in Kennesaw were exceptionally polite and professional. Car had 9 miles on it, best car buying experience I've ever had for sure,

Well that’s great news! Just getting it moving on the train is a big milestone.
