I also prefer the Model 3 front end as-is.I'm biased because I happen to like the existing Model 3 front quite a bit, but here's my theory: Tesla drops the mustache from the Model S and the Model X as a refresh shortly before or after the Model 3 launch, just like they just refreshed the front of the Model S to match the Model X.
But I don't think we'll get the S & X refresh that you mention. It would require a new frunk lid where the cut line is no longer at the front edge, otherwise it looks funny. That's a larger engineering change than just changing the front plastic as they did this time.
