"Refreshed" Model S model VIBRATION tracking and information thread!!!

That's my point. This is a problem you have to live with. But just to prove that this is the "problem". Heat them up with a heatgun and test. And please find out why Tesla keeps this as a secret from you. This is like the bad top strut mounts on older model S. Tesla said they was "investigating" for years..

Just to keep this going, I posted that after v11 of the firmware update my vibration diminished, this was true for a good 10,000km but is back in full force again. SC has blamed my tires (shifted belts on PS4s that I have never once launched with), unbalanced wheels (I've done numerous 3rd party and TSC road force balancings with summer and winter wheel sets with current and brand new tires). No change. Still vibrates at a frequency consistent with speed, more pronounced at acceleration, and from 60km/hr and up in all weather. I am booking a new SC appointment where I am really going to stick to this issue and cite this thread, and I will persist even if it involves bringing on legal counsel. I am sick of this issue.

What do you intend to do with legal counsel? Are you going to sue Tesla for a dollar amount? Do you want them to buy it back? Aside from yelling, "I'm going to sue you" to the service center staff, what's the plan?

That's an easy thing for them to prove by putting on another set of wheels/tires and showing you that the vibration has gone away. I am sure they can source a set to borrow around the shop.

Is this still an issue on 2023 builds? I'm coming from multiple 3s and Ys so hearing of this the first time and now wondering if S is the right choice given some of the issues I'm hearing of

A broader implication of some kind of negligence or malfeasance is beyond any kind of remedy I am looking for. I just want the car to stop shaking and for them to admit the issue. Per:

Technnically I would like to get the new half shafts on per Tesla spec, then retro in a set of control arms from a thrid party and lower 20mm, set camber and toe per ntitive (still within tesla spec), and see if the issue is resolved.

I hear ya. It would make me insane. Right “aerodyne“. I have had no vibration issues but still installed N2itive rear camber arms and lowering links as a precaution. And being lower looks cool too of course.🙃

Just make sure Tesla death mess with your car. Mine was vibration-free for over 15,000 miles, then Tesla service replace my front-left suspension and it started vibrating immediately afterwards (and still does, of course).

Apparently the BMW i8 has the same vibration problem from the half shafts? see @4:33

He gives an interesting explanation of the vibration that it is caused by the half shafts pushing the wheel in and out as it binds. I find that hard to picture since the design of half shafts allows them to slide back and forth on the side of the gearbox. Maybe just the back and forth movement of the weight of the half shafts themselves is enough to cause the vibration and it's not really pushing the wheel in and out.
