For me, it lasted four days.I’m debating whether to send my car to the shop for the replaced half shafts or to wait for Tesla to get to the root of the cause. Hearing that a tech claimed replacing the shafts is a temporary fix isn’t comforting.

At the Service Center now getting the frunk latch recall performed on my 2018 MS100D. They checked the status of the parts order. Discovered that they are replacing all 4 tow links on my Plaid. Interesting… wondering if that’s out of an abundance of caution or if there is a revision / improvement on the part…I am guessing my issue is completely unrelated. Seems like this is a good place to share my experience anyway.
I started hearing this noise from the rear when going over speed bumps, hitting dips…100% Repeatable.
Brought it by the local SC and they decided to keep it there and give me a loaner. Assuming they felt it posed a danger…
Notified today that they had to order “toe links” and that they should arrive by the end of week and that they would be holding my car until they arrive.
I asked if this was a common issue with the Plaid MS…
Response was “no” first time seen…

@Daniellane Can you see what they know about the vibration issue, since you are at the SC? Thanks! At the Service Center now getting the frunk latch recall performed on my 2018 MS100D. Inside with all windows closed. Only occurred when rear went over speed bump. Sound seemed to be biased to the passenger side.Where did you capture that sound? Inside the car or outside?
I did mention it. He seemed to be unaware of the issue.@Daniellane Can you see what they know about the vibration issue, since you are at the SC? Thanks!
The first replacement, back in November. I’m not going back in until there is a real fix. Those reporting this replacement solved their vibration are in for a rude awakening. This procedure, at best, is a very short term fix for most/all.Did you get another set of shafts or still referring to 1st replacement?)
Don’t believe so, no.Anyone else think this could be temperature related? It’s been pretty cold here in Dallas the last couple days and I haven’t felt the vibration nearly as bad as before. So weird.
